Agree. JM Marquez is clearly rated higher than Calzaghe p4p all time imo.

Marquez by a country mile........fought anyone & everyone that was rated in their primes & won or lost pushed them the whole way..........I don't dislike JC but he has some very ordinary ****wits as fans who cling on his wins over the over the hill RJJ & Bhop as great wins........apart from the Kessler & I'll give the Lacy fights........who else did he fight in their prime that was worth talking about........JC certainly took the road of less resistance to maintain his undefeated record......but hey I'm not slagging on JC just stating facts.

Bull**** , you don't take the oath of least resistance by unifying all the belts at s/ Middke then fighting the then best man @ 175lbs in his own back yard and winning against a bloke who with the help of his mates Gotez and Adelaide Byrd used and was allowed to use every trick in the book to foil you , now Joe stunk the joint out in at least half a dozen times during his career but IMO he took the easiest path to riches and only showed his true class when faced with adversity .

Francis why do you always try to make people here Look untish by asking stupid questions of them all the time ? Of course JC 's record dont stack up compared to JMM 's only a complete **** wit would claim that and despite what you may think I can assure you when it comes to boxing I aint no mug , what I was saying to Roscoe is JC's career is far better than the one and half fights he begrugingly gives him credit for( whilst not knocking his career of course ) .

Josey to be fair I agree with a lot of what Roscoe says here. The Bhop win was also decent but Bhop was 43 yrs old and the RJJ fight was a farce.

Another guy using the mandatory BUT word when talking about Calzaghe . That was my point alongside Joe had more than two world class fights .

It's interesting this debate - I find myself in your position when I'm talking about Tszyu, Josey.

I think he was fantastic and coulda, woulda etc etc, but fact is he didn't. Just didn't do enough to remove the doubt from the doubters. JC probably has slight more decoration due to the fact RJJ and BHop are on his CV, plus he didn't lose like Tszyu did, but one thing about Tszyu is he frequently put himself in difficult, hard to win situations. JC did take a path of less resistance (IMO).

Who know's why both of them didn't put the names on their CV where people think they count, but they didn't and unfortunately for a lot of people, that's what is required for them to 'buy' that they are as great as the die hard fans say they are.

The Ring champion is regarded the best in the division. Hopkins had the Ring belt when Joe beat him.

Who was about when Joe was fighting that was a so called big name for him to fight the BIG fight against ? and if I'm not mistaken Hopkins was as stiffle r's mum said the RING mag ( not the WHOPPER comic ) champ and holder of the liniear light heavy weight champion @ 175lbs ,slate all you like but Calzaghe had a fine career and scrapes into my top 100 fighters of all time , not too shabby a record either aye ? , :good
