    I’ll go with Pipino Cuevas.

    Or maybe Roberto Duran.

Serious as a heart attack. Duran didn't want to be there against Hearns. He hardly trained and was lackadaisical in the build up. He put his chin on a platter. Meanwhile, three guys that flattened Tommy - Hagler, Barkley and Leonard- a prepared Duran either beat or was highly competitive against.

Where did I say that? Don’t put words into my mouth you fool, I listed some GREAT fighters I’d favour to beat him, called Hearns a GREAT and also put it all in your back pocket about what “experts say” they’re all a bunch of know nothings like the lot of us, they watch the fights same as us, VERY few know how to fight, Hearns was an awesome fighter just because some other awesome fighters can beat him doesn’t mean I think he’s mediocre LOL.

Let’s also note that Hearns accused Leonard of using… I don’t feel like accusing someone means you used or anything, just that you’re aware of it, just that he’s not ignorant to usage in a boxing context.

I was about to ask the same question. I've never heard anyone accuse Hearns of any drug use. PEDS included.

I wouldn't favor any welterweight shorter than 5'9" to beat Hearns.
And it wasn't just because of Hearns's height and reach.
Theirs been a few welterweights about the same same size as Hearns, like McCory, M.Blocker, P.Williams , but none of them were close to Hearns in ability.
Hearns was as fast as lightweights, but punched like a Lt. Heavy.
    And was masterfully skilled.
Personally, other than the two Sugar Ray's, who both brought the same physicality , skills and mental toughness to the game.
I don't believe another welterweight in history beat Thomas Hearns, and a few ATG's he'd crush shockingly easy .
( Yes I'm looking at you Money Mayweather)

I've posted repeatedly that Tommy wasn't ready at 147 to win a 1980 WW unification over Montreal Duran, who would've been on the highest alert and best conditioned preparedness of his career after what Hearns did to Cuevas in Detroit. All the pundits were writing that if Roberto fought Tommy the way he fought SRL that he'd get knocked out.

Yada, yada, yada...absolute peak MMH was also going to destroy Duran, and there was no way Cholo would ever even be able to compete against the Barkley who had just crushed Hearns in two.

What if Duran had gone right from Barkley to Hearns II? Because the second time around, the Panamanian wouldn't have been partying his way in, he'd have been seeking redemption, while Tommy definitely would've been taking Duran too lightly.

However, Duran did deck and decision Iran between the Blade's two conquests of Hearns, and that's as close as Roberto possibly could have gotten without an actual rematch.

Leonard wrecked Tommy with body shots in 1980. Duran was among the postwar authors on body punching.

Should we consider what might've happened over 12 scheduled rounds between Hearns and Harold Weston? Tommy swept the first four, then Harold the last two before it was stopped. Hearns had only gone ten with Clyde Gray and Alfonso Hayman, while Weston, Jr. was coming of his Championship Distance challenge of Benitez (in a match Harold was winning until Gregorio the son exploiter slapped his kid in the face). Was Tommy already gassing after just four rounds with Weston, and six more to go, only up 58-56 on all cards?

You can see he's visibly an inch or 2 taller than the 5'8"-ish Sibson when they face each other during the opening seconds of this vid:
