Doesn't matter what he should do. we know what he's gonna do and that's continue to fight smaller opponents to some how prove that he is bigger, stronger, and faster than opponents who are bigger stronger and faster than the guys he's beating. Stanionis was a respectable win.... But Eddie trying to suggest the win makes him a p4p fighter is silly and ignorant. And we'll ignore the fact he kept getting rocked by the same punch from Stanionis. Again, if he was to go up and fight bigger and stronger opponents......those punches put him down or at the very least keeps him from coming downhill like he's doing vs these little guys he's facing.
He is creeping into P4P as unified Welterweight World Champion. Last night he stopped an undefeated champion. I don’t care if the opponent is bigger or smaller it’s relevant because he took another title as well as the coveted ring belt. We ar3 not going to yesterday was a meaningless win. We are not going down that path.
Have you seen Boots opponents? He has zero track record of taking fights like that. Dont expect that to change
He's just fought a top 3 welterweight opponent, if/when he goes undisputed he's moving up that's the plan and then he settles at 160 boots is the new sugar ray leonard, complete
Become undisputed at 147 but only if the other champs are willing to fight him this year which they likely won't. 147 is very weak at the moment. Barrios is trash. Norman has had 27 fights bit he hasn't beaten anyone other than Santillan which was a good win over another fellow prospect at the time and those guys are light work for Super Boots. As physically gifted as Super Boots is, he is massive for the division and his size and reach is a big advantage for him at this weight and when you couple that with his athleticism, talent and speed it becomes an absolutely huge one. I think he'll do really well at 154 too but the top guys up there are going to be bigger than the vast majority of the guys he's fought at 147, he'll still have a long reach for the weight class but his reach advantage might not be quite as much or even longer at all in some instances, and they are going to hit harder than these 147 pounders. 154 is much stronger than 147 at the moment and there are better, bigger and tougher fights to be made for him up there. I still want to see Super Boots vs Crawford but it will likely neve happed now.
If he chooses to stay at 147 then he should just grab all the belts there and become Undisputed, he could beat Norman and Barrios easily. If not move up and see what he can do at 54 where there's bigger and better competition waiting for him. Either option sounds good to me.
Jesus Christ, are you delusional? Boots...a SRL? Is Stanionis as good or better than Duran now? Or is Stanionis better than Hearns or Hagler? Part of what made SRL who he is was who he beat and that consisted of 3 ATG fighters. Karen and Stanionis are contenders or champions in a terrible WW era. They are not ATG and neither will be HOF. Now if Boots nutted up and fought/beat Bud on BLKPrime that would be an ATG win. Boots passed on the fight entirely though instead and kept on fighting TBA caliber opponents. Boots is closer to being a BRONER than a SRL ffs...
If the IBF keep allowing fighters not to stay within a rehydration limit for unifications, I think he’ll stay at 147 and become undisputed. The weight cuts are clearly taking a toll, but he had way more energy in his legs without the rehydration limit being in place. I would prefer he moves up to 154 and takes on one of the champions up there, he’s got the skills to do it at 154 and the extra weight might actually help him perform better. My only concern is his defence, if a big dude at 154 clocks him on the whiskers it’ll hurt more than these smaller dudes.
Boots and Crawford at 154 would be a crackerjack of a fight, much rather see that than Bud and Canelo at 168,, Which is why it won't happen of course
Two options at WW - even if unexciting. One of the only decent enough fights realistically at WW would be Norman and Norman is pretty green and fairly unproven still. Ryan Garcia would be a great fight but he is tied up all year with Romero and Haney. Another option is Barrios. He isn't great but he has the WBC belt so that might be a reasonable fight. The SWW division has got far more better and interesting match-ups for Ennis than the WW division has to offer. You have Crawford, Murtazaliev, Vergil, Zayas, Bohachuk, Thurman, Madrimov, Fundora, Tszyu, Conwell. If I were Ennis, I'd go undisputed at WW - no tune up nonsense, unless a better fight becomes available at SWW.
