I've heard and read good things, but haven't seen him fight or seen any tape.

Yeah but Duddy's go-to-war fighting style is why his fans love him so. I'd say if Vera can get this fight he should go for it. He isn't going to make his mark by playing it "safe".

If I was a fighter I sure as hell wouldn't want many of you guys managing or promoting me!!:nut

The most sensible thing for Vera to do right now is go after a respectable "gatekeeper," but most of you guys want to feed him to Duddy, or put him in a high risk-low reward rematch with Lee. Vera needs to learn and improve. That means he needs both training and rounds of boxing. A good example is Pavlik's fights with Anthony Ivory and Ross Thompson. Those were low risk opponents who could go the distance which gave Pavlik the chance to put in rounds. That's the sort of thing Vera needs right now.

I want himt to fight Lee but he should call out a suspect ranked fighter like Duddy.

You guys are all think like boxing fans rather than managers. The question was what SHOULD he do next, not what war do you want to see him lose!

Why? Think about objectively. If you were Vera's manager or promoter, for what earthly reason would you do anything but tell Lee and Steward to go to the back of the line?

Vera beat him fair and square. This wasn't a championship match, there are no do-overs.

But there will be a do over , negotiations for a rematch are already at a very serious stage .

Some say Vera doesn't have much to gain from a rematch but imo he was well behind on the cards 60-53(it main seemed biased to some of you but the 4th is the only round I could even consider giving him till the 7th) and it was a badly timed stoppage .

Now the 7th was a 10-8 , which would of left 68-63 with 3 rounds left for me . So as far as Im concerned Lee would only have to have survived the las 3 to win .

As it is people will also question this win unless Vera can repeat it , + there will be good money in a remacth for him and it will presumely be on ESPN again so more exposure for Vera .

Don't rematch Lee because he's going to get knocked out -- Lee will realize what he did wrong and finish Vera in good fashion.

He can lay low and challenge Pavlik ... you know TopRank would go for that and so would HBO ... because its another KO on Pavlik's resume.

    I'd watch it !!
