All jokes aside, the best advise I could give Canelo in this fight is definitely STAY OFF THE ROPES. Keep the fight in center ring, try to distrupt Golov's jab with his own jab, try to dictate the pace, and definitely invest in the body early and often since Golov's chin is excellent.

Personally, I don't believe anything he tries is gonna work long-term, but we'll see...

Agree with most of that. He has to try and play GGG at his own game but do it better, starting with the jab. If Canelo's chin holds up then he will win. He's also got to throw some power back to stop GGG walking through him.

Yeah, Monroe had a little success in round 4 when Golovkin waved him on and let him tee off. And he tried to build off that success in round 5 but this happened:

Staying close to Golovkin isn't always a good idea, he's very good at generating power in the phone booth. And regarding his defense, he protects his body well and keeps his chin tucked very deep. He doesn't move much but he protects himself.

This. Id also add once Canelo gets his shots off he should wrap GGG up. Look to counter with uppercuts as GGG comes in and then wrap him up.

    1. Stay off the ropes.

    2. Keep as busy as possible as GGG doesn't tend to counter but waits until the other man stops throwing then pounces.

    3. Look for the right hand counter over the top of the jab to try and discourage the superior jabber from throwing it.

    4. Try and use half steps and upper body movement to stop him getting set.

    5. Use his own good body punching to try and slow down the older man.

it's actually always worked. I made a post up here BEFORE his fight with Brook and I said that if Brook stays close and off the ropes, he will have success. We all knew he was gonna get ko'd regardless but the only success broke had was when his back was off the ropes and he was in close. I'm not talkign about golvekin fights with bums. Jacobs had success when he initiated the offense and fought him in close. You guys swear Golovkin is unbeatable with no flaws haha. I'm presenting information here that can't even be debated. "little success" haha. He controlled the whole ****ing round. I hope we're in agreement that Canelo hits harder than Monroe. Just a "little bit" harder lol. btw, in the clip you posted, Monroe had stopped throwing at that point. He was just standing there. You have to be first, use defense and wait for the counter. just standing there in close with a puncher means absolutely nothing if you're not gonna punch back right?

This is basically it. This is how Brook, Monroe, and Brook all had success. This is what I stated prior to the Brook fight when everyone in the universe thought this guy was the 2nd coming of Ray Robinson.Do a search. It's up here. I don't listen to fat azz Dan Rafael and espn and let them tell me something I'm not seeing

    Basically Canelo has two strategies.

Plan A: fight as he usually does, try make GGG miss, counter him, cover up well and throw his flashy flurries. Gonzalez, GolovKing and Willis have already said this, and I agree. Against Jacobs people got the impression Jacobs did really well through his seeming activity, even though he actually threw and landed less than GGG.

This plan may fall apart when it turns out that Golovkin's jab is rocking him like a bobblehead and that Golovkin mixes it up really well to body and head. GGG is a tricky fighter; people underestimate his skill, because a lot of the stuff he does is subtle, but watch interviews with the guys he has fought and they all agree on this.

So if Plan A doesn't work that's time for:

Plan B: Try to crowd Golovkin. Rob him of his space and leverage. Don't let him play his distance tricks and try to render his footwork a moot point by meeting him head on. This is where Canelo's extra muscle and punch resistance will pay off, and even pitty pat combos are good if Golovkin is being outworked. Canelo has an excellent uppercut and he should use it.

The problem with plan B is that GGG is a really good infighter as well. He has a nasty uppercut himself and his workrate has historically been higher than Canelo's. He's also a machine, and even though on the face of it Adama and Ouma did "well" their efforts got them sent to the hospital.

Simply, Canelo's got to have significantly improved on his previous self, and Golovkin has got to have slipped significantly for any of this to pan out.

I feel that Golovkin has the footwork and the jab to dictate the range that this fight happens at.

I feel GGG will be happy to soften Canelo up for 4-5 rounds on the outside, and then to switch it up a gear when Saul is sufficiantly degraded.

But the thing about this fight is that I could be wrong and Canelo comes in like a house on fire and all the gelatos GGG ate between camps come back to haunt him.

It's going to be a barnburner.

nice way to not pick a winner and give a strategy for both guys to later say, "I told you so" if either wins hahaha. Nah, you aint getting away with that lol

I pick Golovkin. I think Saul will look good early but that GGG's pressure is going to tell and that his bodyshots will affect Canelo more than Canelo's will affect him. Round 5-7 Canelo gasses badly and Golovkin starts to take bits out of him. Round 9 Canelo goes down, and he's not surviving the follow-up.

Golovkin has too much left in the tank for Canelo.

    That's my best prediction ;)

I was trying to keep it objective in the previous post.
