i dont see anything he could do. floyd is too fast, too good defensively. this is pac all over again just that floyd will be much harder to hit

timing is what it takes to negate a speed advantage. cotto has fought and beat guys with faster hands than him but they weren't as technically sound as floyd. cotto will have to be patient and throw with floyd whenever possible. it'll be difficult to lead and counter. he'll have to time him. he'll also have to beat floyds shoulders and arms. don't expect any openings or clean shots. they'll never come. he'll have to create openings with combination punching. sure, he's going to have to walk through a **** storm to get the job done. floyd is the obvious favorite...but i'll be rooting for cotto.

The key for Cotto is to jab his head off, and throw combinations to the body and head. Once he establishes some good work downstairs, then come upstairs with big left hooks. He needs to mix it up, throw feints, throw lots of combinations, and throw with power. He really needs to test that chin if he's going to win.

The most important thing I think is to try and build a lead applying pressure behind a jab with full confidence and no hesitation, and change up the rhythm from time to time. Try to bait him in the center before unpredictably pushing him back again, and if Floyd comes forward, don't give him a steady target to hit, and surprise him with disrupting jabs and combinations before circling again.

I honestly don't know. I say go for broke and beat on any and everything in the ring that moves. If the ref is in the way, knock his ass out too. He's not gonna out box him of course. So he might as well try out working him. Somebody call Alex and tell him to get over to Cotto's training camp asap with those special blends.

Floyd has superior timing than Cotto, so it's definitely not going to help making Cotto's job any easier going up against a fighter with fast hand speed and great timing.
