Unless they are taking an anabolic steroid or such there is debate on how much of an advantage these products give.

Most "PED's" are nothing more than marketing hype or something used to mask other PED's.

I really think it is getting to stage where it will be impossible for anyone to pass a drug test because we have gone too far..

Let's surf through the threads here and see if we see the same people barking towards Povetkin about "BAN HIM NOW!!!" after Ortiz, Toney and Tarver got caught. Tarver TWICE. Lol! What about those documents that prove Holyfield had HGH delivererd to his address?!

I don't care either way. Im just harping on you because of the color of the guys you are defending and the color of the guys you are bashing. I see the trend and I get it. He got caught and he had a fight anyway. Nobody on a obscure internet message board can ban him. But if he fights for a title then they will have to re-write history for all the guys they stripped after matches.

 

Lol! That's the point. The COLOR of the guys I mentioned didn't seem to get the panicky "BAN HIM" 5 minutes after the news came out did they?! It happened the first issue with Povetkin. Go look at the comments. How much hate and keyboard bashing did you see Tarver getting after popping twice?? Ortiz got some but not nearly the same amount. But ya wanna pull the old race card out on somebody that calls bs like that out? Lmao. Hilarious!

Vitali tested positive during his Olympic days where he got disqualified from the Ukrainian Olympic boxing team for taking PED's to heal an injury. He never tested positive during his pro career so I do not know what the point was of mentioning him?

 

I really like Povetkin as a boxer.

I also think that the Meldonium incident was plausible and defended him there.

However, to get caught a second time with something dodgy in your bloodstream means there's something fishy going on and / or you're a total dumbass for not watching every microgram of what you are ingesting because you know damn well that you are under scrutiny.

I think his punishment should be an hour every morning, first thing out of bed, listening to Blizz telling him how big his head is and how much he sucks ... on top of whatever the official bodies decide.

They are not gonna ban him, for long at least.. Seeing how most top HW's are on something, they'd lose a lot of them if they kept handing out lifetime bans. You guys saw how worried Duhaupas was about an uneven playing field, he jumped in with about 20 minute advance notice.

 

No one is going to ban Povetkin for getting caught. Over half of the boxers are on multiple PEDs at anyone point. Its part of being a top professional athlete, you need to get an edge.

Povetkin is only stupid for getting caught twice in quick succession, no doubt because Russian athletes are being targeted for additional testing by the authorities for political reasons.

Let Povetkin continue to fight and stop pretending that this is a scandal and that he is "cheating". Everyone is on something and everyone is looking for an advantage. I would say to Dee On Tay and Stiverne who both ran away after he failed a minor test, stop being a puddy cat and fight the man. I know both of you are on stuff as well.

 

That's just a 30 year old story that some people use to reach for negatives. Vitali never popped once in his pro career.

He got cleared the first time around. Might be a similar case. Or he might just be a lousy cheat.

At the minimum a 2 year ban but a 3 year ban would be more appropriate. A one year ban is practically meaningless given the frequency modern fighters fight.

This could be the end of the road for Povetkin. Stripped of his rankings, 37 years old, facing an extended ban, and after this fiasco of ruining a marquee fight who would dare risk working with him.
