Ok so im fighting tomorrow, 3 rounds amateur fight. The weight in is at 4PM and i will probably fight arround 6h-6h30. So what should i eat troughout the day and at what time? thx
Was reading in Sam Sheridan's book "A Fighter's Heart", the coach for fairtex was talking about prefight nutrition. Said eating high glycemic index carbs (simple sugars) before a fight will give you a lot of energy out of the gate; but may cause you to gas quicker. He said low glycemic index carbs (like oatmeal) would cause you to be a bit of a slow starter, but to maintain your energy. This was in regards to a fighter who was fighting more than one fight in that day though; so for a single high-paced amateur fight it might not apply 100%. I don't think pedialyte (to get electrolytes after making weight), a banana, and some oatmeal before the fight would hurt though. Before the weigh in I'd imagine nothing but a lot of water, unless you're not cutting - then just eat healthy.
ur supposed to eat big the night before, like the spg. or rice. the day of, i wouldn't reccommend nething too heavy, especially if u have bad nerves. u don't wanna get hit and throw up or something
