What should Joe Calzaghe do after winning the title at 175?

He'll do well enough to get by Hopkins, who, style wise, could be a nightmare for Joe. If and when he defeats B-Hop, he should retire and open a pub in Cardiff. He'll be rich, undefeated, unmarked and rolling in the dough. Very rare happy ending.

You had to ask...you *******
If Adi doesn't KO Joe early I could see Joe winning a decision..Joe has a very busy workrate and keeps up the pace throughout the fight while Diaconu is very active in the beginning of a fight however if he doesnt score a KD within the first few rounds he changes his gameplan, becomes more patient and fights in spurts.. this appears to work well for him as the decisions he's won are pretty wide..Joe could outwork him but as I've said Diaconu is patient and can counter very well add this to Joe leaving himself open, which he does at times and you could have an unhappy ending for Joe...This ain't no Byron Mitchell here fellas..Just one bad mother****er who punches to kill you:fire

I can't agrue with you about the better opposition - but Joe has spent his whole career at this weight - up until now. So when we look at over all careers - Jones was by far the best at every weight class he stopped at - but he didn't spend his whole career at any weight class. It will be something that people can argue about - without getting upset. We can sit and make a case for both - but it's all a matter of opinion and we all have one.

Calzaghe is willing to have one more fight at supermiddle. Taylor isn't expected to slip up again that's why calzaghe is hanging on to the belts and if its to happen it has to be next up. Taylor-Calzaghe is already set for late July and Warren believes the undisputed champ should be fighting in his home millennium stadium, cardiff. Although finances may dictate vegas again. They are hoping that in the meantime Jones beats someone of consequence in the 168-175 range so that Jones becomes a viable last fight depending on what happens in the woods-tarver-dawson business. Although nobody knows whether to believe the calzaghe 2/3 fights then retire stuff.

The resurgence of depth at 168 is irrelevent to Joe Calzaghe, he only has a few more fights.

From the options above I chose stay at 175, the only reason I can see him moving back down to super middle is if the winner of Taylor-Pavlik moves up.

If he cant secure the Pavlik fight, then he should go for the winner of Woods-Tarver, or even the winner of Erdei-Green...

This doesnt matter as much as you may think..Pavlik will fight who he chooses and he wants to go down as one of the greatest MW champions not **** about at 168..so will Joe wait a year or two while Pavlik is reigning and defending and unifying? I doubt it....fighting and beating Roy Jones Jr after beating Hopkins would add more to the legacy I think for Joe than fighting Kelly
Am I the only one that thinks Calzaghe-Jones would be a better fight??
And ultimately the fighter has to sign the contract(ask Juan Carlos Gomez)for the fight to go down

Pretty much every fight 168-175 is easy for Joe. I think he should unify LHW

Not many fighters completely unify two divisions

He should retire after Hopkins (win or lose). But if he wins he'll likely continue. He's not a big enough guy to compete with Dawson (I know, the Brits will scream otherwise, but it's true), and nobody outside of Britain gives a rats ass about Woods. So, he'd be better off with Jones Jr. or Taylor, should he squeak by Pavlik. But at 36, and not quite as fast as he used to be, he'd better be cautious. Time creeps up on everyone, even Calzaghe. And the difference between dodging a punch and getting ktfo is about a millisecond.

Nah Calzaghe- Pavlik is twice the fight Calzaghe - Jones would be, means so much more, both are guys are still on top.

roy jones has already been KOd by two guys Calzaghe could beat with one hand, Jones is SHOT.

When Woods beat Tarver his stock will go up.

Calzaghe is certainly big enoughto deal with Dawson, who is no giant at 175!:blood

So should Pavlik-Calzaghe be at 168 or 175?
    No mutha****in catchweights:fire

  12. 168 isn't even an issue for Joe now, look at who's there and ISN'T calling out Joe!!! Nobody wants Joe, nobody! The man's a career wrecker, only Froch is still beating his mouth lol. Even Bute knows when to shut up, Joe belongs at LHW now.

168 would make sense. Joe would still hold the belts at super middle after the Hopkins fight I beleive.

Linear middleweight Champ Vs Linear super middleweight Champ. :good

Thats true, hadnt really noticed, nobody is calling joe's name right now, even though he holds all the aces... Even Froch has slowed his mouth down since he got his fight with inkin.
