I agree:good I think beating Pavlik would do much more for his legacy..I just don't think he can do it...

Big Joe should fight the worse boxers in the middleweight and the cruiserweight divisions...just like he is doing right now at 175...

A fight with Roy Jones Jr would be easy, and wouldn't further his legacy from Jr being shot. No poitn fighting Dawson as he hasn't himself beat anybody great yet. The most sense would be too fight Pavlik if Kelly wins his return with Taylor. If he beat Pavlik, nobody would be able to deny that Calzaghe is the truth.

bute has a long way top go in a short period of time if he is going to put himself in front of, Taylor/Pavlik, Tarver/Woods, Dawson/Johnson or Green/Erdei... he has all the talent but fighting a shot Willie Joppy isnt going to cut it.

What title is Calzaghe exactly going to win at 175? Linear? No. Undisputed? No. Ring? Yes, but that title means feck all, really.

Joe should fight the biggest challenge at 175 right now, which is Chad Dawson. Without Dawson and his WBC title, Joe can hardly call himself the true champ at 175 (unless he goes to Germany and beats Erdei, lol).

If Dawson fights and beats Johnson, then the winner of Tarver/Woods - Calzaghe MUST fight him. In fact, Dawson would be WBC/IBF champ, and clearly no. 1 in the division.

Chad Dawson is still unproven at the highest level. Name two great fighters that Dawson has beat? Based on records and level of previous opposition, Dawson is equivalent to Lacy and we know what happened there!

If Dawson beats Johnson he will have to fight Diaconu...and then we all know he's gonna get K.O...

Outside of Adamack, really no one. He does have Harding on his way up, but that's not a real big win.

But if he adds Johnson in April, then the Tarver/Woods winner (as their on the same card, I heard there was talks of the winners unifying), then with Adamack, Johnson, Tarver/Woods and Harding - and the WBC and IBF titles - I'd say he'd be no. 1.

Calzaghe will be retired by then. Calzaghe is looking to add Hopkins and Jones Junior to his record the only other possibilty is a domestic clash with Woods.

That's fair. And good on him, he'd have a great career if he did (but no one can mention him as best of this generation - ever again, lol).

Fighting Hops then Jones Jr before he retired, he'd definately slide down a few rungs on the p4p ladder before he officially did so... And regrettably become a part of this "senior" tour everyone loves to talk about.

if its a tough fight and he scarpes a decision he will retire as he will have used up all the easy wins he has left and would have to face probably a real threat in their prime.
