He mentioned he wouldnt be back until September and admitted himself that he might not deserve a title shot in his next fight after all the problems. Would he be better taking another fight before another shot to get himself back into it? Would he be able to take another fight and keep his mandatory status as the IBF don't allow you to take warm up fights? If hes no longer mandatory, should he go for a different title? Or should he just try and get the fight with Alexander despite the lay off? Personally i would like him to take a good fight against a ranked opponent. Maybe Zaveck or Bailey in september and then try to get the title shot with Alexander. It all depends on what the IBF say about it all with regards to his ranking. Thoughts on what his next move should be anyone?
Isn't Lee Purdy ranked in the Top 5 with IBF ? If so I could see that happening both in house Boxer's and sure to generate a lot interest with It being an all English affair.
I'd like to see him against an American fighter like Andre Berto, Keith Thurman or Jessie Vargas to get the public over there more interested in Brook Although they would probably see them fights as too high risk
His CV is still lacking any real top level opponents, he needs a fairly creditable name for his next fight I reckon - Berto, Ortiz, Jones, Bailey I'd say. Without these type of fighters on his resume I can't see how he could be ranked alongside Marquez, Pac-man, Mayweather etc. Just looked at The Ring rankings, Brook 5th? Who has he fought to justify that? I'm a fan of Thsspescial Kay but that's daft.
In an ideal world i'd like to see him in with Victor Ortiz but won't happen, on the subject of Purdy I'm hoping not although Purdy is better than Saldivia which isn't actually saying much, Senchenko i'd be up for as Smoggy suggested.
If Purdy does really well agaisnt Alexander it would make that a viable fight. If he gets ripped apart it won't be. Carson Jones rematch. Leonard Bundu for the European would be good fights.
The ring is purse BS these days. Boxrec have him at No.7. Here are my rankings. 1. Floyd Mayweather Jnr (WBC) 2. Juan Manuel Marquez 3. Manny Pacquiao 4. Timothy Bradley (WBO) 5. Robert Guerrero 6. Devon Alexander (IBF) 7. Paulie Mallignaggi (WBA) 8. Ruslan Provodnikov This content is protected 10. Jesse Vargas 11. Josesito Lopez 12. Victor Ortiz 14. Andre Berto 14. Kieth Thurman 15. Wale Omotoso
Carson Jones rematch or Paulie Malignaggsjdjdo Victor Ortiz, Berto, Provodnikov would be too much for him!
They are gonna have to be careful with Brook, the wrong fight could end up getting him a loss and making the world title fight even further, if there's one person I think Brook might just be able to decision on a perfect night is Josesito Lopez, he's there to be hit leaves himself open Brook could outbox him maybe Anyone else causes too much trouble for Brook, Brook would beat Senchenko aswell but that guy is just ****
Ease of the orange juice. They obviously didnt time it right this time and they knew he was gonna test positive for a **** load of Vitamin C.
Shag his girlfriend senseless would be the first thing I'd do, get rid of all the pent up frustration. Career wise he should just forget about Alexander and the IBF belt (unless Purdy somehow wins it). I'd wait around to see the winner of Malignaggi vs Broner. When Broner likely wins and moves back down go for the WBA belt.
