As Al Bernstein has said, Floyd would likely need to score a knockout in the fight to win. He is unlikely to throw enough punches to beat Pac on points (unless he scores several knockdowns), and I doubt Pacquiao will fear his power enough to not press the action.

So, probably looking for a Hatton-type scenario.

For me, he's already shown the attributes necessary.

    The Judah fight.
    - Lateral movement away from Judah's skilled left hand
    - Ad******g the way he throws his cook as not to leave a hole
    - Firing off single and double counters before moving again.

    The Baldomir fight.
    - Using lateral movement to consistently be out of range of the punches
    - Using step ins to land his counters before turning away

    The JMM fight.
    - Using his jab to beat Pacquaio to the punch

JMM and in his own way, Mosley, have shown the way to beat Pacquaio - the difference is that JMM got robbed ( he deserved the win) and Mosley doesn't have the counter punching that Floyd and JMM have.

Can he switch his roll/shell to soutpaw stance?

    Otherwise it is a disaster.

The Philly shell is evry effective against fighters with similar stance bacause that target area for the opposing fighter's lead hand is the flank and the back. Against a fighter with opposite stance, then the lead hand of the opposing fighter is facing the trunk, head and body. The dominant and power hands are more distant.

And the Philly shell is a defense of habit. It is not easily to change stance because it changes it's dynamics, like the preferred counter.

Toney does his shell differently. It is more squared up than sideways like Gayweather. So you see Toney alternate his shell by simpkly lifting his right or left shoulder and twist his torso a little to whatever shulder is presenting. Gayweather is more sideways. It is not hard to picture it actually. Get someone do a philly shell stance, except that the other fighter's right shoulder is facing the other fighter's left shoulder. That stance, the power hand is facing the trunk and face.

  7. Not really. Pernell will KO Pacquiao like Floyd did to Hatton. Hagler will be 50-50 since he plods with his feet. He is flat-footed. Fact

    Hagler :blood 50-50. Flat footed?

  9. Yep, and Sugar Ray Leonard, a non-flat footed slick black fighter exposed him. Fact.

Hagler plods, Leonard slips.... Floyd slicks. Fact

Only dumb and stupid people or nut huggers will respect a fighter who uses his mouth and tons of excuses for a fight not to happen.

Get out of this forum and see the real world . . . ESPN called Floyd coward and so many other publications says he doesn't want to fight . . . a lot of other fighters said Floyd is scared . . . WTF is wrong with you?

Questioning why I call Mayweather a Mayflower says you are another nuthugger.

And . . . show me the post where I'm claiming I'm an objective boxing fan? Everybody has their biases . . . and my bias is for the fighter who wants to fight and not afraid to lose. :deal

Floyd will play it safe and time Pac for the first few rounds then he'll walk him down and win in suprisingly easy fashion, Manny can't fight off the back foot and Mayweather knows it and he's great at wlaking dudes down when he needs to (the bigger stronger mosley for instance)

    Pacquiao kills both. Seriously. :smoke

  15. Maybe Hagler, but never Pernell. He is one of the slickest black fighters who ever laced up a pair of gloves. Second only to Floyd. Fact.
