What should Paul Williams do Next: Official Poll Results.

I'm kind of split down the middle. I've wanted to see the PW/KP fight for a while, but also think the he should rematch Martinez. Could care less about Cintron although I think it could be a better fight than alot of folks think.

Clean out a division!!! Stop jumping weightclasses... Just stay ay 154.. Fight Cintron, rematch martinez, Dzizindruk, angulo, kirkland.. or even duddy or JCC jr. if he is looking for an easier fight.... and finally try to lure the big guys into a fight.. Cotto, Mosley, Mayweather..... But he should first beat a few good fighters at 154... If he succeed he can move up to 160 for pavlik or even 168 for bute and the super six winner

 

Well first he needs to come out of hiding and move the rock he has been under. I mean for crying out loud ever since pavlik and Arum called him out we havent heard or seen him. Its hard to figure out what to do next when your avoiding everybody.

 

I'm torn as well between rematching Martinez and taking on Pavlik. I'd probably prefer him to fight Pavlik but as he's insisting on 50/50 (which he doesn't deserve as he doesn't bring as much money to the table as Pavlik) looks like that's not gonna happen. I think he'd slap Pavlik around if they did fight but he doesn't deserve half the money, Pavlik's still a bigger name than him. So I'll go for rematching Martinez.

 

Take on Cintron, then wait for the Pavlik/Martinez winner (if they fight).

 

I don't want him to fight Pavlik for the same reason you probably do want him to fight Pavlik, . He will not take a good activity, hard hitting middleweight champ's punches. He simply won't, not the way he fights. He'll get tagged again and again and again and it might ruin his career. He should stay at 154 and try and pick up a title there, if Sergio is going to be fighting Pavlik, he should stay busy at the same time trying to fight a LMW champion. Sergei Dzindziruk for the WBO title would be great. An undefeated champion and former Olympian. Williams was talking about building a HOF career. That would look nice and it's realistic as a goal.

 

Those aren't his only options but in my opinion I think he should stay closer to WW because thats where the true paydays are!!!

A "career high" payday with Pavlik would end up hurting his career because after he beats Pavlik there is no more money in the MW division and Pavlik will end up being another hype job who will fade away to oblivion!!

More importantly no-one in the WW division will even look PW way again!!!!

Pavlik needs PW more than PW needs Pavlik!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

glad you finally get that and see that it's "gorilla dust" when the camp says they are gonna go back down to 147. of course he would make more money fighting pac or pbf or ssm...none of which will (to quote smokey from Friday) eva...eva...eva eva eva...happen

but i have an idea of how this will unfold for paul which i'll commit to a thread here shortly.

edit to note that by your way of thinking...getting sparked cold by pavlik may be the best thing for his career then...the ww's may look his way again after that happens
