In this poll the Pavlik option is gaining ground. The Cintron option is falling behind by an ever increasing margin.

It's a close one between Williams fighting Martinez or Pavlik, but Cintron isn't even on neither of those 3 level. I'll give Cintron some credit for becoming a boxer-puncher for Angulo, so I'm not writing him off yet.

I think people have been waiting for Pavlik-Williams for awhile now. I think Martinez would deserve to fight the winner. In the event Pavlik would win and move up in weight, Martinez getting the rematch with Paul would still be a good money maker as people know what to expect. If Cintron got another impressive win say over Dzinziruk or Yuri Foreman, than I think he'd deserve a shot at either of those 3.

Well tell your boy Bob Arum to give Paul a bigger cut, and some insurance againt another pullout, and he will gladly slap Kelly around like a hooker on Friday...

    I tend to agree...

But as soon as Paul 'nem focused their attention on signing him again, Arum jumps in and outbids with a deal for Pavlik...

Since we all know that if Paul rematched Sergio, Kelly would be basically out of options. He could probably go to a local tough-man contest and get him another contender, though.

A bigger cut? The way featherfisted Sergio battered Paul around the ring Paul's value as a potential Pavlik opponent dropped dramatically, and yet, Arum and Team Pavlik are still willing to give PW $1.2 million of the HBO money compared with KP's $1.7 million. They also gave Paul a percentage of the live gate and the endorsements. Biggest fight of Paul's career, a career high pay day, and a shot at the second most prestigous trophy in the sport. Where's Paul?

Arum can only outbid Paul if Kelly is a bigger draw than Paul so that the money is available to pay both. Oops?

Plus, I think Martinez made it clear he wants Pavlik. Still waiting to here why Williams/Martinez rematch was being negotiated at 160....

    OK.. I'll play along.

PW get 1.2 and Pav gets 1.7... That's 59% - 41% Which is quite ridiculous, not to mention, they are offering less than 20% of the live gate and endorsements.

This brings the split well below 40%. Some estimate it will bring it down to about 35% when it's all said and done. Which is plain silly.

Don't talk numbers with me. I have let you get away with spitting out dumb **** you may hear from someone who knows Pav. But when you approach me with this dumb ****, you better know what you're talking about...

    because I do.

Let him work himself into the mandatory spot and get the 70/30 if he is so anxious to take the title so easily from Kelly.

quick edit: And what Kelly makes is not really the issue. He is the title holder and offering Williams a career high pay day.

What Kelly makes is the issue....

If you go into a business deal with someone (and each fight is a mini business venture) you are well within your rights to know what your partner is making, if there is going to be a fair split.

Anything else, and you are basically working for the guy.

Who cares if there is a career-high payday? If he is only getting 35%, it cannot be justified, and you know it. No one here believes that is a fair cut. Not even you.

When did challengers start dictating the terms of a title fight?

Goosen demanded, not a 50-50 split, but a 50-50 co-promotion. Why did Goosen make a move that took away KP's ability to negotiate?

I never, ever, ever, ever, ever said that was fair either. You are changing the ****ing tune.

    Stay focused.

I'm talking about the "offer" that was put on the table that amounts to virtually a 35% to 65% cut. That's what I'm talking about. Address this before you try to move to something else.

They are not seprate issues. Goosen did not ask for a better split. He demanded a 50-50 co-promotion. If Goosen simply ask for better terms on the split, and a reasonble amount of money up front, in an escrow account, Pavlik would have the right to say yes or no. Goosen demanded a 50-50 co-promotion, and Pavlik does not have the right to tell Bob Arum how to run Top Rank. Goosen knew full well Arum would never agree to a co-promotion. That's why he made the demand.

I have to go to work now. I'll fight with your ugly, winky-wright lookin' ass later!
