speculation ? Arum was quoted almost a year before saying that was not an option at all for Pavlik vs. Williams... Goosen is either ******ed, or knew full well that he was pricing his fighter out of the fight

Capitalism. Your services are worth what someone is willing to pay. Nothing more, nothing less. This is not a partnership and never will be regardless of what Goosen is pushing for. Kelly is the boss by virtue of his three titles. He is willing to pay Paul more than he has ever made and more than he can make elsewhere. He is also giving Paul the opportunity to become the boss. Paul has every right to refuse the offer and ask for more. Arum simply issued a 'put up or shut up statement'. We have heard nothing so case closed. Both fighters move on. Kelly fights Martinez and Williams fights Cintron. Too many bored people here. :yep

quick edit: http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/20100202/study-links-excessive-internet-use-to-depression.htm Need we say more about ourselves? :think

second edit: Kelly is also offering Paul an "opportunity". If Kelly beats Sergio in convincing fashion, look for Arum to decide he no longer needs the fight against Paul and that is gone too. There is a monetary risk to Paul not accepting the offer now.

can't argue with that. sounds reasonable enough. but i have this sixth...possibly seventh sense that cotto will beat yuri should they meet and that williams will fight cotto for the strap and the good payday it will bring. i think this will happen for a number of reasons but the end result will be paul/sergio for a jmw unification

i say should be b/c on boxrec cotto's next opponent at msg is TBA.

Cotto's never wanted anything to do with Williams- they were supposed to meet instead of the Cotto-Margo. I think Cotto's just gonna grab the belt against Yuri and call it quits...he's said he doesn't wanna continue boxing much longer so that would be a smart plan

Right after Paul beat Margo, he was flat out DENIED by Bo Arum himself.

Arum said he was not willing to risk both of his belts on the same guy.

And from that point on, Paul has been screaming for a shot at Cotto, when everyone was all over Cotto's nuts like he was invincible and ****. So Cotto ends up fighting the guy Paul veat instead, and when he lost, Paul turned his attention to Margarito and offered a rematch... That is when Arum sent the infamous letter to Goosen saying not to contact him anymore about Margarito...

    What kinda **** is that?

    By the way...

Paul is definitely fighting Cintron in May. The fight is done. Maybe they'll publish it somewhere soon, I don't know. I think they are waiting to secure a location first.

PW is going to lose to Cintron and Pav is going to lose to Martinez which leads to the Cintron/Martinez rematch. This whole thread is for nothing:lol:

Well the right thing to do would be to fight Martinez ( i had Martinez by 2 points) since it was controversial.

Although financially(smart thing to do) and what i would do is fight Pavlik first. If he beats Pavlik then give Martinez a rematch.
If he loses at least he gets the big payday.

What if he were to lose to Martinez then hed be assed out all the way around.
