Agree with your points. I think he tried a bit with guys like Judah, Corley and Mosley, and he got tagged pretty good. I think thats Manny's only chance if Floyd does try it, but with everything on the line I see Floyd fighting a more stylistic fight closer to his early days when he used a lot of movement and jabs off the backfoot to stay away.

Correct. If you got to Pacquiao thinking you are the bigger man, you end up the smaller man, lying on your ass with your legs in the air, about 5 feet shorter than him. But he is very beatable if you just stand off the guy. Marquez and Morales both demonstrated that you can feint him repeatedly and make him over-extend, miss and then you can counter him with 3 or 4. I would say Manny's biggest advantage is his left handed stance, his speed, his thudding power, and his awkward angles. BUT these attributes as I have just said are only really useful if you stand in front of him. Then he blitzes you with those awkward punches. I can't see Floyd lying on the ropes against Manny, rather he will move laterally away from the left hand, feint, jab and catch him with shots when he gets Manny to commit and miss quite amateurishly, over and over again. Manny is not the greatest at cutting the ring off, hence how a battered Cotto and old Mosley managed to evade him pretty much the whole fight after they tried to attack him and realised they were going into a tornado of blows. Pacquiao will need to cut the ring off and THEN throw all his shots from his angles, with all his power, from the southpaw stance - something Judah and Corley had success with. Unfortunately unless Pacquiao suddenly develops the ring cutting abilities of Joe Frazier, Briscoe, Duran or Hatton, he is going to struggle pinning Floyd and will therefore be outhought, outboxed, outfeinted, outjabbed and completely dominated. His only real chance IMO is if Floyd has stopped moving around the ring so much in recent fights because he is physically incapable of moving for extended periods of time now due to his age, and he has to take breaks.

yeah I think that's my favorite part about Pac - everybody looks at him at the weigh in and snickers and thinks ... no way this little harmless guy hurts me. So they get suckered into fighting him like they are the bigger guy who is going to just run him over.

Manny has that fast kind of vintage Tyson power and speed where he hits you with shots from an angle you dont see, but he doesnt really have the great footwork to go with it to deliver it. Its not really his power alone its the speed that goes along with it to deliver shots you cant see.

Thats why its important he fights guys he can hit that will give him that target. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to realize this. MarqueZ didnt give him those opportunities to hit him in the angles with shots he didnt see and thats why his power was kind of neutralized.
