I agree with you. Boxers should be made to take certain fights.

You don't see tennis players like nadal and fedderah refusing to face each other.

Or Usain Bolt and Tyson Gay refusing to race against each other.

Boxing is a lethal sport where your life could literally be at stake. In a sport like that you should be allowed to decide whom you do and don't face. It's your ass on the line, so you should have the choice of deciding which risks you want to take.

Tennis, Golf, Horse Racing, Darts, Athletics. Basically pretty much any individual sports.

The difference is that in all of those there is more money to be made in entering events where all the other top competitors are going to be. In boxing you can often make more money by avoiding the other top competitors.

The system doesn't work. Simple as. World champions should be made to fight their mandetorys no question. Look at gaye vs Harrison? That ***** should be fighting chagajev not harrison.

Boxing does have mandatory challengers which theoretically would make champions face opponents who deserve a crack but obviously this can be manipulated.

I think boxing is unique in that it really isn't a "true sport". It's more a series of events masquerading itself like a sport.

Formula 1 is one of the most dangerous sports in the world. The speeds they go round the circuit is incredible.

Professional boxing isn't a sport it's a business, it's called prize fighting for a reason. The pure sport is amateur boxing, and an amateur faces whoever he is told. Having said that, there should be more tournaments like the super six or something similar, like in other individual sports turned business.
