What sort of chance you give Koichi Wajima against Thomas Hearns?

I guess most everyone is going to laugh, and Wajima is certainly there to be hit, especially against the Hearns lazer-guided missile. But he is also durable, and arguably the best LMW of the 70's - so a direct comparison isn't really that out of bounds.

He also has a surprising, lunging attack that just might be key to closing the distance with Hearns and testing maybe his only real weakness, that (often unfairly) maligned chin.

What do you say? Give Wajima any kind of shot at what I think is Tommy's best weight?

Not really. He had an unorthodox attack (a bit like the Dempsey roll), but as you say, was there to be hit and could be hurt. Hearns's range and power would likely stave off Wajima's nerve to close the distance, while loosening Hearns up for the attack. Wouldn't be too long before this bout turns into a repeat of Hearns/Muangsurin, methinks.

I love devil's advocate H2H thread starting but after I tried it once with Bob Foster, it got pretty desperate for me and I tried to avoid doing that again. It was too traumatizing. I just love watching other people do it now.

No chance for Wajima vs Hearns, however he wouldn't disgrace himself and would go down valiantly.
