What stopped Albert Westphal from becoming heavyweight champion of the world?

Could be that he was about the same size as Tommy Burns?

 

Yeah but he also was 5-7 like Westphal. That’s kind of shooting a short stick against late 20th century heavyweights.

 

That was the hardest era to get a title shot. If we made a list of top HWs to never got a title shot the 50s would dominate.

 

I’ve only seen one other Westphal fight. How many have you seen?
