LOL at Jake sweating down to 165 to fight a welterweight who would weigh in with his clothes on at 152. And then complain about his suffering.

First ‘incredible shrinking man’ I remember hearing about was Jeff Harding. Don’t know particulars but I was told he walked around at 215 and the only time he was ever 175 was when he stepped on the scale. Would be 190-ish on fight nights.

That sounds like a relatively moderate way to cut weight? You could have 4oz of steak for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and have a few calories left over for vegetables so you didn't come in constipated.

It probably would suck if you were training hard but this is Chavez Jr we're talking about.

Are you thinking 1000 calories a day? He did 1000 calories for the whole 7 days beforehand. So less than 150 a day

Oh! Ok, I was thinking the average bride trying to fit in a wedding dress cuts deeper than that.

That diet wouldn't work unless you got rid of all carbs beforehand. Otherwise, you'd be going into ketosis near fight time and be lethargic. Maybe a carb load after weighing in could fix you but it would be risky.
