Yeah, a massive 3 fight peak, lazy tub of lard

Larry Holmes - Shavers I to Leon Spinks.

Great 3 1/2 year period for Holmes. I think by the Cooney fight he was in decline, tho obviously still a truly superb fighter.

 

benny lynch= jackie brown to jackie jurich

he lost afew in that period but that was because they wasnt important fights

IMO in that period no flyweight could have beat benny

 

Alexis Arguello - Escalera to Navarrete.

Open to debate but IMO 130 was undoubtably his best weight and best time. At 126 he was green physically and still very much growing as a fighter too. He was still great at 135 but i think it was the start of his decline.

 

He did it soooo easy vs the at the time quite highly regarded Martin too. He is one of my biggest disappointments in boxing.

IMO the mental rot had set in by even the Bruno fight. Almost nothing will be debated more passionately or with two bigger extremes for many.
