He's not fought an elite jab master like The Special One and knowing how caveman Maidana and 93 year old Oscar De La Hoya beat him to the jab I can see why not. The Special One lands that ram rod jab down the pipe all night.
He's fought every style. Boxer, puncher, swarmer, boxer-puncher, counterpuncher, in and out. That's what happens when you've been around that long.
Pretty much. He's fought against all common styles, I think, but probably to varying levels of opponent in each - and for different reasons in each case.
Defensive style, aka his own. Not his fault tho, very few fighters fight that way. Rigondeaux, Crawford (too an extent), Moreno, Ward, Lara (but sucks), etc...These are modern defensive fighters. But few fighters fight this way and of course they are in different divisions.
We get it you hate Brits because Calzaghe toyed with your heroes :hi: Exact same thing as you was telling me a year ago when I guaranteed you Brook is beating Porter. :hi:
Would of liked to see him against Margarito, Paul Williams, or a Vernon Forrest. He has fought every type of style but certain fighters would of posed a bigger threat using certain types of styles against him according to their own physical attributes.
There really isn't a style he hasn't faced. People bringing up PW, Margaritas and Forrest or even Winky are just stating "bigger" fighters in a nutshell. No doubt those guys would give him trouble but it wouldn't have anything to do with "style", more so "size".
Yes and no. Forrest had a lot of technical ability besides his size it would of been a good bout. Margarito was a durable mauler who could put pressure on all night and he wouldn't have ate turn buckle like Ricky. It was a really hyped bout and I am disappointed it didn't happen. It would of been great to see Floyd adapt and shut him down. As for Pwill yea he was big but awkward, through a lot of punches, and yea maybe this fight for me is about size. Other wise I am a Floyd fan and when you are a fan of a fighter your always going to be like what would of happened if Floyd fought so and so or this fighter and so on.
I would favor a prime Forrest over him. Not sure if this fight was actually make-able at any point (relatively prime versions of both). I'd like to see Brook next.
