Frazier is not as easy to hit as many think. If he can avoid some of ALI's punches, he can certainly avoid Foreman's Harder but SLOWER and LESS ACCURATE punches.
Another thing that should be added, contrary to popular belief, Frazier could alter his style. Frazier was known for his come forward style, but he didn't always just walk right into his opponents power range and try to beat them down. He countered, used his feet better and punched off the angles when pressured himself. He did this against Chuvalo, Quarry, Ellis and Bonavena in their rematch. Against Foreman, Joe thought that he could just out-smart and out-bully the bully and instead he got bullied around himself.
Chuvalo pressured Frazier and backed him up a couple of times in the fight. What did Joe do? He backed up, jabbed, countered and used his right hand more, and in better condition, showed the head movement against Chuvalo that he didn't against Foreman. Plus the fact that Chuvalo wasn't allowed to turn the match into a wrestling contest like Mercante allowed Foreman to do against Frazier. Now we all no there's a distinct difference in punching power between Chuvalo and Foreman, but not a whole lot of difference strength wise.

"It wasn't to long ago before such blows would've been brushed off by the rugged Frazier.
But he was ready to be plucked this momentous evening and Foreman did a clean and neat job of it"

Frazier simply had no answer for Foreman's shoving tactics. To me, that really is the key to why Frazier was unable to be effective against Foreman. Foreman completely controlled Frazier and kept him just where he wanted him to be - in position to be hit with Foreman's looping shots and long uppercuts. From there, it was just a matter of time before Frazier was KO'd.

To be effective against Foreman, Frazier would have to stay either outside or inside of Foreman's power range. I don't see Frazier being successful trying to box and counter Foreman from the outside. The height and reach disadvantage was too great and Frazier didn't have the outside boxing game to pull it off. In principle, though, it could be done. Foreman sometimes completely neglected his jab, as in the Young fight. However, if Foreman got his jab going, he wouldn't even need to continuously push Frazier off - his jab would probably stop Frazier in his tracks and put him on ***** street.

Really, the only hope Frazier had was to get inside on Foreman and go to work. But, as we know, Foreman wasn't having that, and used "clever positioning tactics" to shut down Frazier's entire offense.

Foreman hardly landed anything on Jimmy Young, who was, in my opinion, considerably more advanced than Frazier. Even so, Foreman fought a really stupid fight against Young. The Foreman jab was nowhere to be seen. If he had used his jab to set up his power shots, I think he would have been a lot more successful.

The .45 or maybe the 9mm style.

Can't see many other styles working for him against the big guy.

    As Chuvalo puts it

    Foreman was the freight train

    Fraizer was the spors car

    Ali was the matador

The freight train crumples the sports car when they both crash into each other because it has so much more mass but the freight train is too slow to hit the matador whereas the sports car can.

Nothing. He simply was not as good of a fighter as Foreman and Foreman had the power to always crush his suspect chin.

Olliver McCall had one of the best chins in history but that uppercut would've decapitated him. Sorry If you can't handle it.

Remember the Lewis rematch? Foreman would've knocked his lights out. Sonny also would've.
