What about the Lewis rematch? McCall had a mental breakdown in the ring and put his arms down letting Lewis hit him with clean punches and he was never hurt even once. If anything that fight just showed his iron chin. McCall had a far higher quality mandible than Frazier, give it a rest.

the only way is to back foreman up so he would get no leverage on his punches / but much easier said then done/ styles makes fights and this is a horrid style for frazier

Joe Frazier was one terrific fighter, but he didn't match up well with George Foreman regardless of which fighting style he used.

Maybe the style...Where he was allowed to bring a mallet into the ring.

Frazier was great, sure McCall had a better chin, amongst the very best ever.
That was a gift, but stylistically Frazier would have a hard time winning 1 out of 5 if they fought during their peaks, if that.

I think a better right hand would have helped Frazier, the right hands seem to land on Big G

    Peak Foreman? Never.

If Foreman had a bad day, did not use his jab, and failed to push, then Frazier could have conceivably landed a few telling shots that could have put down the big man. Ron Lyle certainly had the power to take him down and to my recollection his power and Frazier's were about equal. If Frazier could do that and take him to the late rounds then he may possibly have won.

    Most definitely.

Here in Canada he's a legend, more for what he did outside the ring than in. (which was considerable). He had 3-4 kids and a wife, everyone of them but 1 died from drug overdoses or suicide (in case of his first wife).

But rather than fold the tent or hit the bottle, he went to 1000's of schools and preached the dangers of drugs.

well definitely a more defensive running quick style but that really wasn't Joe's style very much, you mention he used it against Chuvalo a bit and fine, overall I don't see Frazier beating Foreman.

I don't think a peak Frazier would have beaten a peak Foreman. And Frazier only had one style.

Frazier would have needed a bring a shotgun in the ring and blow Foreman's head off kind of style.
