I take a a protein called international protein extreme mass. I take it so i dont drop to much weight. I only do weights 1 day a week so i find it helps keep me weight where i want it to be other wise i lose to much weight and dont feel strong. What other supplements should i be taking. I train in muay thai, some nights we train for over 3 hours and the next day i feel very tired and have sore muscles. Is there any supplements i can take to help me not feel so flat the next day and have a better recovery?
I also take a protein shake one before training (counts as meal) and one after and have no problem with tired or sore muscles, was advised as a nutrition that it repairs any damaged muscle.
Iv been told that green tea tablets ( or the actual tea) is good for recovery as its high in anti-oxidants. i personally just take a multi vit and try to eat as well as possible. Although im far from perfect iv never had a problem with training or fatigue.
I'm starting to swear by cod liver oil with added vitamins. Does wonders for the joints, plus they're quite cheap
my trainer told me to take magnesium for recovery, is that right? i went to a health store the other day and asked for a multi vitamin, the guy working there told me i wouldnt need a multi vitamin and tried to sell me some other stuff. What multi vitmain should i go for? i have been told green tea and fish oil are good supplements to take.
Have a varied diet and you don't need to worry about supplements. For recovery purposes the best thing to do is take your macronutrients at the right time. If you are doing consecutive 3 hour training days you'll need a high intake of carbohydrates, your protein shake probably isn't helping much unless it also contains caffeine and carbs. Fruit and vegies for the antioxidants to limit free radical damage and fish oil for it's anti-inflammatory properties. Take fish oil if anything as a supplement.
Whey Protein Cod Liver Oil Multivitamins but really most supplements are just there to take your MONEY!

i have a pretty good diet, and i also got something to mix with my protein for after training which contains carbs. I might look into fish oil. Are multi vitamins effective? I have spent a lot of money on supplements in the past and realised i was just wasting my money. Mainly fat burners and pre work out shakes. Now i just take protein and am looking for a capsule type supplement. I might look into green tea and fish oil. Do you know much about magnesium?
Check out cliff bars, I heard they are totally vegan. The builder's pack 20g of protein, which is plenty of protein supplement for me. I take 1 bar after both my workouts. If you feel sore I suggest icing it down 15-20 minutes after your workout. Ibuprofen after your workout, but always with food. And STRETCH!
