    vitali's weakness was technical
    wlad's was his chin

wlad was ALWAYS touted as the more gifted of his brothers when they were fighting in Germany. I know this because I was working in Switzerland at the time and following them on german tv

and that's how it worked out

it's unfortunate that vitali had so many injury worries, but wlad had a serious Achilles heel too

it's too his credit that he was able to redefine himself and overcome that to become the best again...total respect

Many hall of fame people have 0 wins over hall of fame opponents. The K Bros did not want to beat up on washed up names like Holyfield or Tyson.

For what it's worth: Ken Norton is the only exclusive HW in the Hall of the Fame who was never the HW Champion or recognized as the top guy.

So unless they can manage to beat Wlad, any HW contender in this era has a tough hill to climb to enter HOF status.

Haye has the best shot probably because of what he did at Cruiser. Adamek and Byrd are long shots.

But what is the worth of a HOF win anyway? Byrd has one, Rahman has one, McCall has one, Sultan Ibragmiov has one, Valuev has one, Danny Williams has one, McBride has one,..etc. Are these men great?

And amusingly once Wlad is inducted...Purrity and Brewster can claim a HOF win.

Future hall of famer? I am pretty sure Haye and Byrd will get in the hall. Haye was the cruiserweight champ, and didn't do too badly at heavy. Byrd was a top tier boxer at 200+ for more than a decade, with his fair share of solid wins.

The K brothers both turned pro in 1996 so fights with Tyson and Holyfield could have happened, but Wlad couldn't even beat Ross Puritty so he was out of the picture, Vitali did at least step up against Lewis and we all know what happened there, TKO6.

Not really and its not just because of the Puritty set back. Tyson lost his license from 97-99, he wasn't fighting anybody. And please don't imply Tyson was going to walk away from Holyfield in 96 to fight two European rookies nobody heard of.

From 99-00, Tyson took tune up fights against fringe fighters to shake the rust off and build towards a money fight with Lewis, the Golota PPV would have set that up but he got suspended for another year after testing postiive for pot.

02 the much delayed and anticipated Tyson/Lewis finally happens.

Tyson/Vitali was on the table in 2004 but Tyson blew out his leg against Wiliams and the rest is history.

And honestly nobody knew who Wlad/Vitali was in the 90s, the Byrd fights was the first time I took notice of them. That was 01, I think. Tyson/Wlad/Vitali was never a possiblity. I'm a huge Tyson fan, I followed him closely, trust me, this was never on the table.

Yes, Vitali was up 4-2 on points before a cuts stoppage that might have been caused by laces. So where was the re-match? Lewis balked.

    :deal

Both Spinks and Holmes qualify for ATG status, not just HOF...

Byrd and Haye don't belong in the HOF. Exactly what have they done to get there?

Klitschkos have beaten a long line of BUMs, STIFFs, NO HOPERs and TOMATO CANs - and both Klitschkos have gotten KOed on that journey. The only sure fire HOF heavyweight that either of the Klitschko sisters has had the audacity to share the ring with took out the garbage in 6.

Wow. You Klittards really only see exactly what you want to see.

How in the hell could those *multiple* cuts around Vitali's eyes have been caused by laces when the gloves are taped and the tape covers the laces?

How in the hell does that work?
