Imagine you are a pro and you have to face Tyson and you are much taller than him. What tactics would you adopt to stop his attacks? Would you do like Lewis who anticipated him with tough uppercuts or like Holyfield who hung his head when Tyson attacked making him collide against his skull ?

Or would you adopt a your personal strategy?

Lateral movement, stick and move, when he attacks, move out of the way, then counter. Take him into the later rounds, test his stamina. But do not lay on the ropes or do a bone hugger like Bonecrusher Smith. And do not show fear.

I would use the same tactic George Foreman used to batter Joe Frazier ( assuming I had that ability )

Boxing him at range while changing your cadence. Unorthodox punches including shovel hooks and uppercuts. When Tyson gets in close he has to be controlled. Combination of holding (see Boneclutcher Smith), wrestling techniques and head manipulation such as Ali used against Foreman, pushing his head down.

The peek a boo system had its flaws and when met with boxer punchers who could fight at range (Douglas, Lewis) and not get obliterated when Tyson got close, which he will, the system can be neutralized.

Mid to close range, were you could see his punches and movement, tight defense and holding. Don't go backwards and let him leap in and catch you off balance. Never lose composure.

Play dirty and get him frustrated. Look for counters, 1 shot at a time.

Take him deep and then open more combos as fight goes on

    Get lucky.

Well- I am someone like many here with no pedigree boxing knowledge and to try and figure out Tyson that would be a foolish assumption by me, So as an a rock bottom educated guess I would say I would need to spoil, clinch, and focus on wrestling and working down the middle, uppercuts, body jabs and whenever he closed the distance I would hide like a turtle and slam my bulk into him and octopus and pair that with a lot of arm punches in the clinch downstairs. My main tactic If I was big enough like a Bruno type In a nut shell would be to clinch to no end and lean on him and walk him around the ring in an attempt to tire Mike out firing off where I could whenever he was off balance to prevent return fire. This is all based on my viewings of the Smith, Evander and Tucker fights

I'd assume I was Vitali Klitschko.

I'd use the power of mind control.

Mid range is a HUGE no-no against Tyson.

Holyfield’s tactics, outmuscling and combination punching were one of Tyson’s weaknesses.

Push him back, make him question himself. Why are people saying they’d move etc... Tyson loved that. Get him on his back foot where he had no plan B

I do like your plan, but did not James Buster Douglas use movement?, and it worked.

Holyfield like said above. But in real life, I am pretty sure Tyson would knock us out with the first punch he lands or in the case of Seldon misses lol.
