If foul-mouthed inarticulations coming from a face only a mother could love count as charisma... but he is a come-forward fighter = good tv. The guy I feel for is Chambers - he's a better boxer, fought better opposition, taken more chances and stuck in neutral at the moment. Nobody said the game was fair...
arreola is exciting enough but not really a barn burner. he's had one or two really good fights (the swamp donkey fight but i've yet to see it) but every other fight i've seen him in he's exactly what he looks like: an out of shape, JUST BARELY better than his opponent pressure fighter. he's a solid top 10 guy at the best of time but we found his measure and his place; he'll never beat the elite and he's no gatti (rip) so i'm not compelled to watch him fight regardless. plus, he's an idiot who wasted a golden ticket against vitali. he didn't put on a good fight. he's didn't train hard enough. he had a chance to make history and he ****ed up cause of his own laziness and attitude. i've no use for that kind of fighter
I like Chris I think the guy is a good honest fighter who gives it his all and comes to fight. Allot of heart, very decent chin and good power. He was determined against Klit that you could not help becoming a fan of this guy.
"**** that i'm coming back" I've seen that clip on HBO over and over and i still cant help but laugh out loud. Horrible post fight interview. Made me feel bad to be a mexican
Those things could also have been said of Butterbean in his "prime". The current heavyweight elites can barely be counted on one hand. So, relative to the small amount of elite heavyweights, any fat ******* with a punch can become a "legitimate contender". Geezus, this sport & forum really do get caught up in a lot of hype.
Gtfoh:roll: Cant compare Butterbean to Arreola. Like him or not Arreola could still whip on most guys in the top 10. Butterbean was kod by a 2-6 clubfighter and dominated by a 50 something Larry Holmes. Most people i know like Arreola except for the haters on Esb. He might have got whupped by Vitali but so would every other Heavyweight on the planet, hell hed even knockout his brother if they fought. Id say Arreola is at least pickem to ko David Haye who lot of people on ESB rave about. In fact id put money on Arreola. Not cause im a fan but because hed probably be able to handle any heat that Haye brought, unless Haye ran all night I see Arreola eventually catching Haye and knocking the China chinned englishman out.
HBO really screwed up. They are still on the Arreola hype train, and he shows up at 263! It's the Vitali fight next weekend they should be showing LIVE, not the guy he pummeled who turns up 12lbs heavier!
Chambers obviously, he's undersized but lightyears ahead Arreola. Arreola in the post fight interview "**** that (tears) i'm coming back even better" etc yet here he is, 260+ lbs, looking like a fat tub of goo. He better watch it or his wife will be back working at fastfood places. Get serious or stfu
