Wow, did not see this coming! By Dave Spencer / Fightnews Canada Two-time world title challenger Monte 'Two-Gunz' Barrett got caught two times by righthands from journeyman Cliff Couser. Barrett crashed to the canvas from a right to the chin as the first round ended and barely beat the count and made his way to the corner. The rest did him little good as Couser once again landed big with a right to the chin sending Barett down to the canvas for a second time. The bout was quickly afterwards at :42 seconds of the second round moving Couser to 26-12-2 (14 KO) and drops Barett to 31-6 (17KO).
Wow, Barrett should never lose to Couser.. Couser is shot beyond belief... Monte has gone downhill FAST.
think about how much damage monte has actually taken though first time i ever saw him was in the wlad fight, and he got DESTROYED... and i mean... DESTROYED. then... mesi hurt him, guinn did a lil damage... valuev dropped some bombs on his brain.. monte has taken punishment...
Damn! Berrett must be totally shot to lose against such an average journeyman.Virchis easily stopped Couser a few years ago,and so did some other fighters.
Rob Calloway annihilated Couser in 2....I think it's time for Monte to hang 'em up before he takes any more punishment.
Guess that's the slip down from gatekeeper to journeyman then...wonder if Monte will want to continue or call it a day, he's getting on now. His highlight, IMO, will always been the way he out-hustled and out-foxed Guinn. I saw that fight live, really enjoyed watching him befuddle Guinn.
