we will never know if Margo cheated in his fight against Cotto. there is wild speculation because he was caught trying to cheat Mosley. So one could safely assume he may have done it before. granted But Pac has never been caught cheating, there is no basis, or foundation, other than the words of a convicted cocaine dealer, that he is on steroids. so logically, you can't say Cotto was cheated twice. He lost to Pac, plain and simple.
i wish people would stop making excuses for the guy. Your statements have no concrete evidence its pure speculation. The honest truth is the guys maxed out now hes stepped up the competition because hes only ever been good never the great some of you guys made him into. I like him as a fighter but hes extremely flawed and those losses were always coming. The sooner you realise this the easier it'll be.
There are clouds of doubt(right or wrong) over both Margo and Pac, but it's tough to say they both cheated against Cotto without solid proof. Is it possible? Absolutely.
Not defending Pac or Marg because I think they are both suspect but... If you notice Cotto started taking SERIOUS punishment as he moved up to the B+ and above levels. He was hurt versus Corley. Cut badly with Urkal. In a war with Judah. Boxed beautifully, but got hit with Mosely. Shredded by Margo. Put on his bike by Clottey. Then defeated by Pac. Etc... So even before you get to Marg you can see some wear and tear. By the time you get to Pac? It is a testament to his mental strength that he didn't show signs of deterioration sooner. I still want to say Marg cheated due to "Who starts cheating as a champ?" Pac is cheating because he refuses to test. However, "what happened" seems pretty obvious... boxing.
I agree to an extent. I also think Cotto has had trouble since moving up in weight, dealing with the bigger guys. He can't pressure em and bully like he used to. Margarito and Clottey are big ww. Although Pac wasn't bigger, he is a freak.... strong and fast and would be hell on anyone. The fact that Cotto wasnt a large welter didn't hurt.
Yep. I also notice, since I have been studying more film on Pac, he does a lot of "pre-countering" against guys who telegraph shots. Cotto has a horrible habit of that. He used to just pound the "little guys" out. It was probably even worse when he didn't have a decent trainer. Makes you think there were probably holes in other places in camps, sparring, conditioning, bad habit reduction, etc... That Pac fight might just have been the perfect storm of wear & tear, a bad camp, and an intelligent fighter.
