after the loss to Khan he was inactive for a full year until he got robbed against Alexander . . . that was a year ago. This fighter is too good to retire just yet so where is he?
King's punishing him for making Alexander look bad and potentially messing up some of the hype for Bradley-Alexander. Because of Kotelnik's showing, King had him move up in weight to avoid any talks of a rematch, and has simply not made any fights for him.
I also heard that Kotelnik was more interested in waiting out his contract, which is completely understandable.
It's a shame he's so inactive, especially at this stage of his career. Either at 140 or 147 there's plenty of fights out there. At 140, re-matches with Maidana or Alexander, the Morales-Matthysse winner etc. Hopefully he'll end up with another promoter who'll push to get him in the ring more.
Now is the perfect time for him to pick up a big name win (even if it does involve swooping in like a vulture in not the most dignified manner). He'd school Judah, who - knowing his dumb ass - will be looking to rebound and probably thinks he can beat Kotelnik.
Definitely harold pissed me off big time that night, after every round," jim that goes to devon alexander" ... i'm like no it didnt kotelnik won that fight 116-112, he and bradley should fight.
I will be curious to see if King tries to promote him more now that it looks like he'll lose Alexander.
I don't blame him. He's had the one fight against the guy he matches up worst with at 140 in Khan, and the one fight that I thought he was robbed in vs Alexander. It's too bad- he should at least be in the mix as one of the top contenders in the division.
Yeah that was disgraceful. I usually agree with his scoring, but in that fight I couldnt believe my own eyes and ears. At least the commentators werent as bad about it.
