Does anyone realize... or does Pac and Mayweather even care how horrible they are making boxing look right now? The supposed top two pd 4 pd fighters in the world are making every excuse not to fight each other, and both putting crazy demands onto the other fighter which each must follow in order for them to be willing to step into the ring against each other. This is just pathetic. This is MUCH, MUCH beyond your normal "wear these gloves" or "at this weight" demands. 10 mill a pound penalties... all sorts of random blood testing? WTF? Sign the contract, and get in the ring and fight, ffs. Pathetic. Boxing has been put into a negative light enough without this back and forth bull**** which makes boxings biggest stars look like pampered, frightened brats.
This is a direct result of letting boxers dictate terms of a match they participate in. Boxing was far and away a better sport when the promoters had full control. Sure boxers didn't always get a fair shake. Today however wage earners paying to see a GOOD fight rarely ever get a fair shake. The fans get screwed. At this point I'd rather just see boxing die an ugly death than become what it is turning out to be. Let it be remembered for the days it actually resembled gladiatorial combat, not glorified sparring.
Guys like Floyd Mayweather hurt the credibility of boxers. Negotiating drug testing? In the contract? What the **** is wrong with the drug testing all the sudden? It caught other dudes. He won't fight the guys we want to see him fight, he would rather discredit his real challenges and fluff up a bunch of mediocre dudes.
I still think the fight will happen, Just bull****. I wish it was like the old days if one of these 2 fools wins the same year there is a rematch, bamm! that is how boxing is supposed to be just war no bull****.
Its all sports. Boxing is just the next in line to possibly expose someone getting an unfair edge which atheletes are doing with more frequency these days with all the money at stake. Would you rather have guys wrap their hands in plaster and take steroids so wins can be questioned and fighters can be seriously hurt? To me thats a lot worse than taking a simple blood test. If Manny would have agreed from the start this would have never snowballed to what it has become.
This fight will generate over $100 million. You didnt think it was going to be that easy, did you. I just hope the fight on the agreed upon date in March
