This isn't only good for the sport of Boxing - but also the business side of things. It creates more competition and more competition like this could produce better matches. If done right - Showtime could make this very appealing to other fighters - especially if they advertise their Showtime fights on regular CBS - giving the show and fighters a bigger audience to cater to. This usually equals more money. At the same time - it would get HBO to stop over paying for mismatches and start making more quality fights - to get their viewers back. Competition between networks equals a win for fighters and the sport.
:good Although, one big minus is.. Manny's already steamrolled through Toprank's roster, and who else is there left for him? Every big name around 140-154 are tied to HBO.
You! In your absence, Bob Arum, the man himself, came to this very forum asking for you, Mr Magic. He was talking about a dilemma involving two TV networks or something. I don't know. He seemed pretty worked up and refuse to talk to anyone unless it was you. Nice one, dude. You ignoring ESB, could be the sole factor in HBO boxing going down the toilet.
