The reason why he took on Cotto instead was because Cotto was the #1 Welterweight, Margarito only got that status recently as he beat Cotto. Refusing to fight him was understandable as he wasn't the best.

The fights with Vargas were good fights and fights people wanted to see, especially after the first fight. The first fight being competitive is what demanded a rematch. I could name a LONG LIST of meaningless fights in Margarito's record for you to feast on. Mosley is not a man to duck anyone and if he declines a fight there is a good enough reason behind it. His intentions RIGHT NOW are FAR better than Margarito's who you're trying to rub all over Mosley. At least Mosley plans to take on the #1 Welterweight YET AGAIN after his next tune-up. Is Margarito even planning to rematch two guys that beat him and are offering rematches for him instead of being the other way around?, the answer is no.

Mosley/ Vargas was a meaningless fight..even am title fight. it meant noithing in the divisioN. Msley already proved he wasnt the best 154 THATS why he went back to 147.....figting Vargas was for money...Vargas had a bad back and balloned up between fights. Margo at 147 was much tougher.. holmes.. im clownin ya holmes, step off homay!!

Margarito was much tougher but who did he prove it against exactly?, who was he at the time to be considered over Vargas at 154?, do you think the PPV buys were going to be 400k+ fighting Margarito than Vargas?

All answers = no. It's only the fact that you know the result of both fights that makes you think it's meaningless. Let me tell you what's really meaningless, fighting Six Heads Zero Chins Lewis is meaningless, Golden Johnson was meaningless, Manuel "Unranked" Gomez was meaningless and A LOT more. Compare that with Mosley's resume please.

If Margarito's only major victory is Miguel Cotto then Mosley has a long LIST of major fights and victories and this is a man that started at Lightweight all the way to Junior Middleweight.

You want to compare Mosley with Margarito in terms of courage and guts?, don't even go there because you will fail and fail miserably. If Margarito failed in his first attempt at Junior Middleweight against an unknown then Mosley failed fighting one of the SERIOUSLY most avoided fighters at Junior Middleweight at the time based on ABILITY not BULL**** HYPE. :good

    :patsch

Margarito was ranked #1 by RING under the champ at WW he had a title ..hadnt lost at ww in 10 years.. he was fresh off KTFO Cintron who was ranked top ten by ring as well and undefeated... Vargas was DONE when he fought Mosley...didnt have a title at 154 and was weighing 200lbs in between fights with back problem..NOT ONLY that was already KTFO by Dela who Shane already beat.. just like Mayo was ALREADY KTFO by Dela too... see a pattern :rofl

if you think Vargas was a tougher fight then Margarito then you have some issues man

Where did I say that Vargas was a tougher fight?, all I said is that he was a BETTER fight compared to the completely unknown Margarito at the time. You're just twisting the subject because you have no response at all, a typical failing attempt from you. :hi:

As I said, the only comparison you will have with Mosley and Margarito is the Cintron fight. In terms of competition and SERIOUS resume, Mosley wipes the FLOOR with Margarito.

You also do realise that Mosley is looking to add Margarito on his resume soon as well yet still acting pathetic.

When I said Margarito is much tougher it meant yes I DO agree with you then added that he never proved it against anyone for Mosley to go for instead of Vargas. But of course a proven ****** like you won't understand it properly.

I'm not twisting nothing, you asked me a question and that was the obvious answer to YOUR question. How is that twisting?

Yeah, everyone knew that Margarito was the better opponent at the time alright. In your dreams that is and you have some nerve criticising Mosley's resume even though the man you're using to back up your claims is Margarito and his ONLY ONE major fight and victory to back him up, and that opponent Mosley already fought as well.

You also know that Mosley targets Margarito next as well to add to his already insanely great resume. The funniest thing of all is look who's criticising Mosley's resume.

Yeah, Mosley is ducking Margarito alright. Here's a link to support your "link fetish":

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=17215&more=1

    Explain that please.

Is Margarito trying to avenge either losses against the already ready and offering Williams and Santos?

We know who the loser is now.
