Is he going to fight anytime soon?

He needs to just fight one of the other 3 champs. They need to put him on the fast track through 126. He can beat the first two... And he has the "asian experience" to get him an edge against an aging John on his home turf. You don't manage a WBC featherweight champ like he is a prospect.

But if they gamble just a little bit he really can be the "golden boy". I want to see him go after another belt in 2009.

Yes, but has many flaws and limited physical ability, which some can be corrected and much experience will help the kid. The defence is a major issue and it's good he's in a very weak division at the moment, even with major improvements, he'll still get crushed by top elite's, especially those with power, I suspect chin issues.

Go away. Your boy is almost 30 already and he gets knocked down by journeymen.

    He's 26 and turns 27 in December... 'almost 30'.:rofl

And that journeyman would have pasted Linares at 130, trust me, Linares better feast on smaller fighters moving or the limited crop at 126, even a limited, harder punching larger fighter is going to be all he can handle.

I think Linares has potential. Lets see how Juan Manuel Lopez does against PDL...I don't see JuanMa staying at 122 very much longer. Linares vs Guerrero/Lopez are interesting fights IMO. If he gets a couple decent wins at 126 he could move up and take a HUGE fight with Gamboa.

My crystal ball suspects KTFO losses for Linares and Valero in the future. Very limited fighters
