you can tell from Cotto's expression that he was probably asking the same question...

that's great. the problem is, floyd is not cotto. the chances are, if pacquiao punches like that against floyd, then he's getting countered, and maybe even knocked down. it's not going to take a lot to put a fighter on one leg off balanced. got to box a lot smarter than that against someone of floyd's calibre.

you have to consider though that this is a pic of Pac going in for the kill against a fighter who's really hurting and probably only thinking of survival. If Pac and Floyd do fight, you will probably only see a punch like this if Floyd is in the same situation that Cotto is, and that's a big if.

And besides, we're staring at a picture here, sure Pac looks pretty open, but you have to consider how quick that punch happened and how quick your reflexes and your own punch is to counter that. that's a very very small window. Floyd might be the only fighter able to capitalize on those small windows and even then it's a matter of debate that can only be answered by seeing them in the same ring...

Good call! Yeah in this picture, Cotto is just bouncing back from the ropes after Pac hit him with a thunderous left hand that caused this slingshot effect. That right in the picture was really just a weak follow up punch that barely hit Cotto. (@ 2:01)

look, don't get me wrong, pacquiao is a hell of a fighter, a true p4p great in my opinion, but he's just too open to beat floyd in my opinion. he's great offensively, but defensively he does leave himself open whenever he goes for the attack as he throws punches with both arms. yes they're at lightning speed. yes they're powerful. yes he has great workrate, but when he misses, which he will do, he leaves himself open, and that's why he has problems with counter punchers, and floyd is the best counter puncher in the world right now.

Looked like a follow up right hook throw from an akward angle.

That punch is just a punch where Pacman didn't have time to put any power behind it, but he can still hit Cotto and maybe cause a little more bruising and keep Cotto on the ropes. If he didn't do that, Cotto could get a punch going and maybe land a solid counter.

From Cotto's point of view, it's one of those "ouch....didn't see dat coming" punches.

I admit, Pac's form looks ridiculous in the photo. Like he did a flying-side-stepping-hammershot. Whatever does the job, I suppose.

like i said before, you can get away with this **** against the likes of clottey, cotto and oscar, but mayweather is going to take advantage on any flaw he sees. personally i see them sort of punches, no matter how much damage they did to their opponent, i personally see them as flaws, and it's up to floyd to take advantage of that. it's an offensive flaw that becomes a defensive flaw once the punch is thrown.

It's an opportunity to punch your opponent while he's off balance, and another point on the punch stat card.

LOL look at these haters down to analyzing a photo where Pacquiao is landing a clean punch on Miguel Cotto to show that Floyd has a shot.
