not an excuse as clottey ****ed up his leg and his trainers were not gripping the surface of the canvas properly hency being of balance at times playing into cottos hands bith fighters wrent in an ideal situation

Clottey screamed like a little ***** acting like if it was broken. In less than a minute he got back up like if nothing happened. He cried about the rabbit punch and low blow which if u look @ em were not a big deal. Cotto could've easily opted to end the fight in the 5th or 6th round and was ahead on the cards yet chose to continue fighting...Clottey meanwhile was praying for the ref to deduct points off Cotto because he knew he wasn't going to get the decision instead of actually finishing the last few rounds strong which he failed to do.

It was frustrating seeing Cotto run when IMO he did his best work coming forward. I dont know if he was tired, just took too much punishment or didnt wanna trade with 1 eye.

I think he was having Margarito flashbacks late on and thats why he did what he did to win. That kind of **** haunts a fighter. He could have just boxed Clottey from the get-go, then there would have been nothing 'split' about the decsion.

The only thing a new team/trainer can do at this point is tweak his defense and nothing more, he made a career fighting the way he does already so it's too late for a major change.

I agree a new trainer won't do much he's set in his ways.

he only needs a few adjustments, his style is fine, he needs work done on his footwork and defense, its possible to change, plenty of fighters have done it, its up to cotto though.

Yeah, he was not at ease with his back to the ropes and he was not confident to commit fully to his punches and sit down with his punches. Surprises me cause he was doing well to show real cold-blooded defensive ability against Margo.
