What the hell was Floyd Patterson doing in the bathroom at 2 in the morning? (VIDEO)

I used to box a switch in a flat in my first year of university. One day I managed to drag it down with an overhand right and it clicked down, permanently. Problem: this was the bathroom heater switch and the entire flat started to overheat. I had to get the university electricians over to fit it.

Since then, I've become far more forgiving on switches.

 

I agree.. That was a fantastic interview, and Patterson was really a wonderful human being as well as a great boxing personality..

God rest his sole.......

 

We are all nuts:silly I learned to throw the right uppercut on the basement hanging string. I'm glad I've kept slipping those tree branches too because the other day dozing on the city bus a drunk walked down the isle and threw a shot at my head which slipped it on its own! I loved the nice duck comments from the other riders.

As special as he was as a fighter, my prevalent memory when anyone mentions Floyd Patterson is watching him ringside when his adopted son Tracy Harris Patterson was struggling with Jesse Benavides in 1993 in a title defense; Harris had started strong, but Benavides rallied in the middle and late rounds (great fight, if you haven't seen it) and in the middle of Benavides' run, they showed Floys in the corner, is hand shading his eyes, massaging his own forehead, just awash in worry. He was eminently human at that moment, watching his son take a licking.

 

i know they fell out for a few years, but got back together after it...did they remain close after that ?

 

I love Floyd Patterson.

 

i met him once...got a **** photo though...one of my highlights all the same

i had a dream a month ago that i met floyd patterson and wanted him to sign my glovebut he wouldnt sign it he said "I only sign gloves for colored folk. get lost whitey"
when i woke up it was mad funny because i realized floyd was a gentleman and not racist at all

 

You musta eaten something too spicy before going to bed...to transform Patterson into that sor of guy!
