An alternative does not equal a solution.

Froch couldn't of beaten Ward unless Ward allowed him into the fight. Which ironically is a major part of why Froch lost. Ward fights with a lot of concentration and professionalism and likes to maintain his advantages. He has good focus in the ring. So essentially having a punchers chance is always gonna make it difficult for you.

Ward voluntarily backed up late in the fight as much as Froch was able to apply the pressure imo. To me Ward knew the fight was in the bag so was looking to coast.

You cant blame Rob McCracken. Froch is just technically poor.

    This.

As for punchers chance, always said, Frochy is not all that big a puncher, especially with his punching technique. He makes Bazooka Limon look like Ricardo Lopez

I think they (Froch & McCracken) were surprised how strong Ward was on the inside.

They knew they wouldn't beat him on the outside, they knew they wouldn't outbox him on the inside.

Their hope was, I think, to draw him into a trade in the mid range and rough him up on the inside.

When they realised a) Ward was too patient to be drawn into a mid-range slug fest b) Ward was strong enough to get rough on the inside, there was nowhere else to go.

Watching Froch, you can see his mind ticking over during the fight. He'd launch an attack which would be nullified, step back, take a deep breath/shrug his shoulders and then step back in with a pawing jab to set up the new attack.

The problem was everytime he did that Ward was a step ahead and was either hooking out into space or throwing his jab, causing Froch to do his step back/deep breath/shoulder shrug routine again and reset.

All credit to Froch, he's got a ton of heart and I respect him for it but he was thoroughly outclassed.

McCracken was, is and always will be ****. No coach who has a fighter that fights like Froch is good. Froch is like Haye, they changed a little bit because of what they experienced in the ring, not because their trainers got them to improve.

Froch is technically disgusting. He's one of the best 168 in the world and shows how poor the standard of boxing is. It is rather embarassing.

Still love him but technically he is horrible.
