The Vitali victory did not do any good to the heavyweight division. Vitali will have to face Gomez in 3 months. Will he do it it, I doubt it ?

    1) The probable scenario is that Vitali retires, that leaves the WBC vacant we wil perhaps have Gomez-Peter for the vacant title. No good news here.

    2) If Vitali decides to stay, we will never see a unifcation with his brother. We will see more onesided performances like yesterday.
Except for the Lewis, I have never seen Vitali involved in an exciting fight and and his stye is not very pleasant

The Klitschkos are so dominant, nobody is a legimate threat, inlcuding Valuev and Chagaev. They are the best handsdown now.

As for the fight yesterday, Peter looked like a human punching bag and Vitali won handswon. it was like a sparring session. Peter was obviously 10 pounds too heavy, looked sluggish and had no gameplan. He did allright against Waldo but here he was never in the fight.

Vitali would have no problem with Gomez, while at Kohl's gym both Klitschkos owned him. However, Vitali wants the WBA title.

it definatelly done more worse than good, peter would've fought wlad for the undisputed title and the winner would've gone after chagaev, therefore finally having 1 globally recognised champion in wladimir klitschko and to become a champion you would have to beat him, now when vitali retires in 12months we're back where we started

What he should do is defend the title, fight and beat Valuev, defend it once more, and then retire and pass the two vacant belts to his brother, or have Wlad fight someone for them. It would completely restore the lineage

I don't think it's bad, the Klitschkos bring name recognition and attention to the divison with their story like noone else could at the moment. They are the face of the Heavyweight division right now.

A Gomez vs Peters fight would have been Ho hum.
Only because Vitili will be fighting Gomez is there any reason to watch.

The chance of having a unified champion is gone as they wont fight each other. This cant be good for the Heavyweight division.

It looks like Vitali wants the WBA title and that's great news.

I'd love to see if Vitali could knock out the freak.

Its good news because we get to see the circus freak show , finally KTFO and also we get to see a genuinely entertaining HW fighter fight again. As much as Wlad has been dominant, he is a boring fighter to watch at times compared to Vitali. That means the HW division now has both Haye and Vitali, things are starting to get exciting again.

My question is this: If a man that has been inactive for almost 4 years and is already 37 years old can come back and utterly DOMINATE a heavyweight belt holder, what does that say about today's heavyweight division?

I think yes, it was a big blow for the division, but at the same time it was further proof the Klitschkos are the force right now. Good to have Vitali back and healthy though, this brings quality in the HW division.

Well, the fight was boring yesterday. Except of the Lewis fight, all of Vitali's fights are boring. He is the best heavyweight but he has an ugly awkard style. How can this be of any good?
