Because the first offer wasn't a ready to sign contract - when Warren said that they where ready Palle had his laywer write up the papers - there where a few demands added to Warren's "yes" - so that was included too.

Well it's Kessler's side that hasput their money where the mouths are so far ... atm we're waiting for Warren's reply - so if anybody is going to sending mexican bandits it should be Palle/Kessler... but then again why go through all that trouble for a WBO-belt? :hey

Well It's Warren and Godzaghe's side that wants Kessler and has accepted and were awaiting contracts.

There going through all the trouble for Godzaghe, the WBO belt Is a bonus.:yep

I think I have just witnessed a 15-rounder with FW and Palle. It was boring though - too many feints and dodges.

    NO!
Warren said he accepted the offer, but instead he increased it to 5.5 instead of 5.
Palle accepted these new terms and send the contract to Warren. It is very in Warren's hands.

However two things still need to be agreed on, where they should fight (the fight could generate more money in Cardiff) and when. Warren want's a september date and Palle want's a november date...

To be honest. I'm still very much in doubt that the fight will ever happen..

    Cheers

Every day for weeks now I check on here for news, ever since I heard the news that Warren had accepted Palle's offer.. Then Palle is in hospital... then Palle wants the fight in November... then Palle isn't sure if he wants the fight to be held in Denmark after all or not...

I'm becoming less hopeful by the day, but still, I guess no news is good news? :think

If this fight doesn't get made it will tarnish Kesslers career more than Joes. People will always rightfully ask "So why did you never face Joe Calzaghe?"

To which Kessler will reply, with tears streaming down his face...

"Because my promoter wanted a BEEEG PAARTEEEE"

    "I'm comeeeng for you Calzagheee!!"

Yes of course you are Mikkel.. of course you are, shush there now.

Kessler has never slowed in his stride - I would never blame Calzaghe either if the fights never gets done.

Unfortunately, Palle reads what FW puts in small letters in his offers.

That said - both boxers will suffer from this - if it doesn't get made(which it will).

    :D :D :D

I just love these double standards and total ingoring of facts...

Palle has sent a ready to sign contract to Warren 12 days ago - a 5,5M$ offer - an offer which Warren had already "accepted" and it's Palle/Kessler that's to blaim???

This date-crap is just that - both Warren and Calzaghe has stated that November is fine by them - so there shouldn't be a date problem. Of course Warren/Calzaghe is willing to wait a few extra months for a career-payday - if not then name me one fight that will pay Calzaghe 5,5M$ that can actually be made!

As for where the fight is to be held - well from day one Palle has said that Kessler will come to England if Warren is willing to make him the same offer he made Calzaghe - that offer still stands - and it's just that, it's not Palle being in any doubt as to where the fight is to be held!

Had it been Warren that had sent Palle/Kessler an offer 12 days ago without Palle/Keesler answering we'd have the first 10 Calzaghe-fans shouting "Kessler is ducking Calzaghe" - just in a much more abusive language - I'm still to see a single post saying that Warren/Calzaghe has gotten cold feet...

We had several posters saluting Warren's masterpiece - when "he called Palle's 5M bluff" - now it turns out it wasn't a bluff and that Warren's acceptance might have been just that - a bluff...

But of course it's Palle/Kessler that is to blaim... :tired

To me it looks like Warren is the one with the cold feet.
Apart from that i think that this fight will come thrue, in Copenhagen or Cardiff,
both sides will loose face if it dosent happen.

Not only face, it would be crazy. It is currently the best way to generate the most money between them. There is money and glory involved and even the loser will have many options, because as it is they are both regognized as being in a level above everyone else. So the loser will still be very attractive and will still have all kinds of possibilities. It might even be easier for the loser to get fights than for the winner.

No reason why they should not get it on.
