Eddie Hearn has already stated the fight will start no later than midnight. I think Epix has been spoken about as the US coverage as well.
Surely Showtime will pick this up eventually I mean why else would they go out there way to sign Bute. Sure they wanted a Ward fight but Froch brings a lot to the table he is highly ranked, has name recognition on Showtime and exciting It's not like Bute is fighting some French bloke in Romaina. Showtime will pick this up.....I think they will won't they.
Surely that won't stop a tape delay showing of the fight, Well I would think It wouldn't would It or does that make too much sense. :think
Contract states the fight can't be any later than midnight uk. Eddie Hearn confirmed this on twitter. HBO turned down the fight very early on as did showtime. Epix will more than likely show the fight in the states. Dan rafeal confirmed this ages ago
In the long run, if they pick this up and showcase Bute off, if he wins big against Froch and impresses they could advise him to fulfil his last fight on Showtime, against a no mark and then prize him back to HBO with a career high payday against Ward (who'll already have his eye on switching to HBO, same as Dirrell will be).
Yeah got that! if its fought in UK the time's uaually to suit the UK viewers, its not often they change it that much. Anyway do the US know who Bute is?
Could do. It certainly would make sense. I just think it's funny that they preferred Tarver-Kayode to this.
They already talked about puttign another fight in the opener. Can't remember which though, something not as a quality as this.
The fight will be start at Midnight. Lee Purdy vs Denton Vassell II is likely to be on the undercard, with John Ryder, Ryan Aston, Scott Cardle and Eric Ochieng all likely to feature. Pier-Oliver Cote (who is 18-0) is also on The undercard as part of the deal. The fight will be on sky according to Hearn 'There's only one place we want our fighters to fight. It's pretty much a done deal, we just need to finalise the contracts. We have no interested in working with anyone else, and boxing ISN'T READY FOR PPV, SO THIS WONT BE ON PPV' Tomorrow's Boxing News
Good point. I can't see why they wouldn't do this, if Bute beats a fighter who has been on Showtime the past few years it leads into a Ward fight nicely. I really hope Ward-Bute doesn't turn into the new Floyd-Pacqiuao :-(
