Ever since I found a style I'm comfortable in I haven't really progressed anymore.

I still have trouble landing combinations and can basically only land straights which is really all I do during sparring, jab and straight. The guys better than me still own me just as hard

The only time I really feel like I improved is when I go to war with someone which I often end up winning, but I try to avoid these war hungry guys as much as possible because even if I win, it's not worth the headache and sore jaw

It's a process, don't get frustrated. I'd actually focus on mastering all punches before I'd worry about a style. Have you been taught how to properly deliver a hook or an uppercut? My point is that you won't feel comfortable throwing a certain punch if your muscles haven't adapted to thowing them. Once you've learned( the proper way to throw each punch, then focus exclusively on your form. After you have the basics of each punch mastered, get your footwork together so that you're always in position to fire the appropriate punch(this comes with experience).

its all about learning, even if you feel like you perfected certain techniques it might not acually be true, you can still get better, over time you'll figure out different more easier ways to do things.

Theres a difference between passive training, and active training when your acually thinking about improving and thinking about what you can do and learn.

I'd say go back to the basics completely. Rebuild your foundation for a while then work, with your trainer, on crafting a style that makes the most of your assets.

What do you think about while you're sparring? What do you think about while you are shadow-boxing and hitting the heavy bag? Why are you able to land straight punches? What is the other guy doing while you are punching and landing? Or punching and missing?
It is pretty difficult, in the ring, to walk up to somebody that is trying to avoid being punched and to hit them with a left hook or a right uppercut. You have to lure them into. Kind of like fishing...your presentation has to be right.

I haven't posted up something long in sometime now and and i don't feel like but i guess it would help you clear your thoughts a bit.

First of all in Boxing you don't just do things that you are comfortable with.. im not saying to completely change stances for the rest of your career but what im saying is not everything is comfortable until you practice it alot..

The key is sparring really, spar alot of different people and don't think of 'beating' him .. try new things. Everytime i spar i try a different style.. i've tried alot of styles that big fighters use (try to imitate them as much as possible), i've tried Hopkins, Mayweather hell i even tried Tyson (wasn't very successful) but by doing that you automatically create this custom style that only you feel comfortable & good with. You need a style which can fight any fighter not a fighter which is good vs 'counterpunchers' (for example). Also when sparring don't just throw shots all the time.. this is the sweet science, this is chess in real life. THINK. Use your brain but don't use it too much to the point were you don't wait for the perfect open pocket and catch a counter all the fight .. that's were the 'allround' style comes in.

Sometimes you gotta fight like an actual 'Boxer' and go in for it and brawl a bit but then be aware when there's your golden chance . You can ALWAYS progress in Boxing.. no matter how good you feel, someday there's going to be a bigger dog who's going to put you down on the canvas, your job is to reduce the chance of that happening by training hard.

(Yes writing this much is actually alot for me)

when boxing try lighter punchers ,,they will be faster ,, double up on the hooks ,, try faking the first jab (meaning half throw it )backed up with another jab ,,the second jab will mostly get throw ,,straight right to the body with a left hook to the jaw
don't go for power ,,,you need to **** off your opponent's before there is a big hit shot

hope that helps ,,sparing is for learning not fighting
