    This.

Hell, I'd much rather hold a belt only once during my career and fight in a stacked division winning some and losing some to what are generally seen as some of the best of their time above holding all the belts for years and fighting in what is generally regarded as a weak, sub-par era full of "top contenders" who would probably be bums and journeymen in any former era.

At least in the former scenario, I could wake up in the morning with my head held high knowing I did the best I could and beat and lost to some of the best fighters around. In the latter, I would be ashamed to call myself a "champion" when my record is only just slightly above padded.

This, not to mention the fall from grace, adversity of the Peter fight and the rise to a lengthy reign!

As crazy as he is, that is why I respect Evander 'The Real Deal' Holyfield. Bloody fruitloop though with a heart of a lion.

He was the reason I got into boxing. His fights against Bowe were memorable, and whilst he has gone on far too long, he has literally fought everyone out there.

You've just given me an idea.

It's 5am here and I'm off to the gym in a bit. Once I'm done I'm going to phone in work, tell them I'm not very well and stay home watching Holyfield - Tyson. All the build up as well.

If I get in trouble, it is totally your fault.

If my boss is reading this, I'm only joking. But, I don't feel 100%. I may not make it into the office today. Please don't call or text, I'll be fine. It's a slight case of the AIDS but my friend jaymon says 2 spoonfulls of Calpol and a day on tne sofa doing **** all will cure it. He's a sensible chap so I'm going to take his advice. Also, I'm going to be back late from lunch on Friday. If you report me for lateness I will scratch your car wiith my keys.

He was a great Champ :good And it is unbelievable how good his shape is for a man about 49 years. He was robbed against Valuev. This was a great performance from Evander. He was dancing around Valuev it was fantastic but than Evander was robbed. But amazing shape and performance.

    Agree with this.

Stacked era of quality competition is great. It tends to be rarer in the HW division.

At the same time, there has to be something said about the excitement of the 80's with what Tyson did. He was young for a Champion in an era where his size was no longer "big." He was seen as small HW (despite his King Kong aura) dominating bigger Men.
He had a chance to prove himself and see if he could become the greatest. With the competition approaching in the 90's, WOW...but he blew it.

    As far as length:
Joe Louis's long reign was admirable.

And then we look at Wlad who has dominated for years. that has to be respected. It would get higher points if he were more aggressive like a Foreman type but he is smart in fighting the way he fights.
And I know it can be seen as a stain on his legacy/reign, but his losses are admirable because he came back from them.

All are respectable but in the end, yes, I would rather take a stacked era of talent that fights each other even if the belt exchanges hands.

Heavyweight? You want different kinds of champions to specific divisions?

How did you receive the AIDs virus?

On second thought, don't answer that.
