JJ is a very poor fighter... unless he has improved tremendously.
    Scheesh.

GIANTS imposing HEIGHT, Reach, strength and weight over smaller men, does NOT make them good fighters.

In my opinion only the Ali of 1980/81 would have lost to Joyce.

Joe Joyce would have to wait for Ali's speed to drop, but even such an Ali would look like lightning next to Joyce...

I could see Joyce taking a controversial decision over the lethargic Ali who lost to Holmes or Spinx. Even at that stage, Ali's hands were still faster than Joyce, he could still take a punch, and he still had the strength to clinch or put up his guard. The pre fight build up would be Ali calling his opponent "Joyce the Giraffe" and would bring a step ladder to the weigh in joking he'd need it to reach his jaw.

Over 12, i think Joyce might narrowly edge it taking a split decision with one scorecard having Joyce winning 6 rounds, 1 round even, 5 rounds to Ali. My guess is Ali would ironically have much better accuracy/connect percentage and ring general ship than the big guy, but Joyce would steal a few rounds by being busier and throwing more.

The Ali that lost to Berbick and Holmes, jeez, the guy came in on a winged chariot and left on the back of a dust cart...thanks for the memories champ, I am aware the world is a significantly poorer place every day since he died...

Joyce was formidable before Zhang destroyed him. I think Ali after 1975 could have problems with say the Joyce who beat Parker and Dubois.

He didn’t look that bad though stopping both Dubois an Parker an neither of them are small men an in fact they are probably the 2nd an 3rd best heavyweights in the world at the moment

People hate on Joyce now and I have to admit I thought he was overrated at the time aswell but he has some good wins that get overlooked.....

Joyce is the only fighter to stop Parker and that was a impressive performance he was throwing 70/80 punches a round which is quite remarkable for a fighter of over 260+ pounds.

He's also beaten Dubois which has aged well and has other solid wins vs Jennings, Takam.

Ali between 1976-1981 was very beatable the earliest version of Ali I could see Joyce beating is probably the 1976 version of Ali who was out of shape vs Young.
