    1985 rookie Tyson?
    1986-89 undefeated Tyson?
    90-91 comeback Tyson?
    95-97 Holyfield Tyson?
    98-03 Post Holyfield Tyson?
    03-05 Post Lennox Tyson?

What's the best version that Galento could beat and/or stop?

He has an excellent chance against anything post Lewis. Quite frankly, the best version of Galento likely stops the version of Tyson that lost to Lewis. Mike only fought for about 2 minutes in that fight before settling into a losing pattern. As great as Tyson once was, there are hundreds of fighters that could have stopped the version of Mike that fought Lewis.

One of the best heavies to never win a title. Reminds me of a nuclear version of David Tua

I've noticed you rate him higher than most but I don't think he deserves this high praise. Galento lasted 1 round after the knockdown. Tuas big thing was the iron chin. Galento was stopped 6 times in his career. Even if 4 of them were notables and he had a chin he wasn't historically durable or anything. Tua is one of the few top HWs to never be stopped.

Galentos KO percentage only 72%(10 points lower than Tua) despite padding his record quite a bit. He had power that Mann knockout was great and theres some good knockouts there. But he wasn't Louis or the Baer bros who all beat him. A few other better Louis opponents too. Don't see him beating Tyson.

And that doesn't get into the dirty fighting.

I think of Galento much more as a “Tire Iron” Jones type of H2H monster

This is about right. Around about 1998-05, I think he gets increasingly likely to lose to Galento, probably the sweet spot coming just before the Lewis fight &, of course, beyond. If little else, Galento at his best had serious fight in him. Tyson didn’t as the century turned.

Honestly, yes. Tyson was that bad against Lewis. The fact that he lost to no-hopers like Danny Williams and Kevin McBride beat him shortly after Lewis tells you all you need to know. Sometimes when a fighter is done, they are just done. His win against Etienne looked like a set up to me.
