    No, the reason he was decked was because he was careless and hung his chin in the air.
    Post exile be got tagged, but being wiser he had his chin tucked in, and rode the blows.

    That would have been crazy. And Ali looked bigger than 220. He was 220 for Norton III and he looked bulkier in Manilla.

    Ali was in the best shape of his second championship reign the night he fought Frazier in Manila. One if Ali’s first comments after the bout was over in the ring when asked if he thought he was going to lose “The 10th round the pressure was so great. If I had not been in such great condition I would have definitely lost”.

    I actually watched Ali train for this fight. A buddy of mine was staying at Deer Lake as a sparring partner and I visited. He told me Ali was getting himself in tremendous shape for this fight. And he looked it.
