The Botha fight he was still near prime??? The Lewis, McBride and Williams fights I'm assuming you believe he was near his prime too? Please do us all a favour and hang yourself

Obviously. Which is my point. If the likes of them get hype for KO's, then its not hard to fathom why Tyson would.

His resume sucks but head to head he'll give every other heavyweight champion in history problems.

how does his resume suck? Is it because you cant name any of his opponents?

I like all KO artists, it's natural for a boxing fan but most of them are overhyped - Tyson way more than most because of the factors I mentioned.

The only good wins he had in his career were both Ruddock fights. When he was champion none of his opponents were good.

Tyson was Floyd Patterson on steroids

    Literally

He took over a really **** era

Larry Holmes wasn't worthy of carrying Tyson's jockstrap

Non of those fights took place in his prime.
His prime was short lived yes, but it was dominant.
Tyson was not quite on his game for Douglas.
I'd go as far as to say he was not really on his game for Berbick either, but the opponent was right.
As was pointed out earlier when D'amato passed it did seem to have an effect on Tyson.

It's always easy to look back and ask such a question but as things unfolded real time, his performances were electrifying. Most HW's were petrified before the fight ever started. But he was a bully and like most bullies when he couldn't force a guy to back down he fell apart. Not until he ran into Douglas did he really have someone stand up to him. Don't forget, Douglas' mom had just passed away and he was fighting for her memory. Douglas took some hellacious shots but he didn't fold.

The other thing to remember about Tyson is he is bi-polar. He was always on medication until training. That is when the **** hit the fan, when he was off his meds.

Tyson was a much abused, inner city kid who had very little confidence but Cus Damato saw the potential in him and made something of him. Credit to Mike. Credit to Cus. Tyson would have been in prison or dead a long time ago if not for boxing.

Tyson was shot to damn near dog **** by the time he started getting beat. Douglas and Holyfield get some credit though, he was still in better shape at that point in time.
