Firstly, i think he was referring to the Lewis, Williams, Mcbride losses

Secondly, Where does it say a fighter cant be shot at 23?

Tyson is only overrated if you think the 19-21 year old wrecking machine represented his entire career.

Tyson had a very, very short prime, he was going downhill from his very early twenties but we all hoped he was going to become that fighter again that destroyed the best fighters of his day.

I'm sure you're aware that Berbick purposely wore black trunks to snub Mike since challengers couldn't wear the same color trunks as the champ or they would get fined (Tyson got taxed $5000 USD). So Tyson made Berbick pay for that mistake with his health.

climbing too high too fast was what shortened his prime.

A schoolkid who gets it all has lots of trouble adjuusting to the real world, and Tyson was barely older than a high school kid when he was beating champions.

Too much, too young, and where does one go from there?

Gotta love the disrespect that some boxing fans show to fighters on here, I wonder if other sports have fans who are so ****ing fickle and disrepectful..

So In Summary Of This Thread...

Tyson - a savage animal street thug with no heart. The "Catskill coward" who "knocked the crap out of some tomato cans" and "he was basically just a big punch"
(apparently Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko are no different)

"Bruno, Tucker, Ruddock, Golota and Botha were all (tomato) cans"

Buster Douglas - a fat diabetic
George Foreman - made a career out of beating chinny guys and biggest ducker of the 90's.
    Ken Norton - Chinny Guy
    Moorer - Chinny Guy
    Morrison - Chinny Guy
    Joe Frazier - Chinny Guy
    Gerry Cooney - a crackhead

    Is that about right?

Let's not forget the guy was probably on steroids, he openly admitted to cheating pi$$ tests with a fake dick full of someone else's urine.

It's amusing some people are so sold on hype that they can never let go. Tyson himself will tell you he doesn't deserve any of it and his record backs that up, this is not an atg heavyweight, it's not even close but people are sold on image.

Innocent until proven guilty. 'Probably' on steriods isnt a fact, thats just your opinion. And how exactly did steroids benefit Tyson anyway?

Tysons a manic depressive, he suffers from depression, thats blatantly obvious since hes retired which is why he makes those comments, but, what the f*** do you know hey.

    What?

Ive been here for years, formerly a prolific poster in the lounge before it went and the post counts were wiped.

You're barking up the wrong tree.

If Tyson fought in today's pay per view era he would be smashing records. If someone like Tyson was around right now Floyd and Pac would be a fraction of the stars they've become.

Mayweather and Pacquiao would have had followings similar to Sweet Pea and Roy Jones Jr. respectively ie; only hard-core fans gave a crap.

A standout heavyweight kingpin ala Tyson is just what the HW division needs. Even if his reign was short it was so destructively enticing no one could miss his act.

**edited to mention Tyson himself may be simply too small for todays SHW's, but his style and excitement is what the division really needs.

He did actually admit doing that because he was taking recreational drugs.
