Oh I get that whole deal, but lets be real. You can get the same "level of excitement" watching two bums slug it out. He was nothing special is all I am saying. Now combine his lack of anything special with the fact that he CHEATED, and the guy was a grade-a SCUMBAG in my book. Not deserving of any acclaim.
Fair enough if you dont like him thats up to you. I dont think you'll get too many people agreeing with you though.
I think he was at his best against Patterson. He showed some decent boxing skills in that bout and movement. Nice hand and foot speed. People talk about him being some overachiever and not being that talented but I think he was more talented and athletic/fluid than given credit for. He was probably a bit of an underachiever in fact due to his lack of discipline and personal issues. Given the drama of what happened in the fight though, I think Rodriguez was his "finest moment". The fights with Robinson were great. Better than the Ward fights IMO. Robinson 1 > Ward 1 > Robinson 2 > Ward 3 > Ward 2
there is nothing wrong with AG and how he captured hearts of millions, it's just a boxing a little bit bigger thing than to fight with your face instead of your gloves. there is no **** you about that.
